The cutest pumpkin I know! The smallest sized hat was still too big for her coming home from the hospital outfit!

Good things.

1) Let's start with one of the really good things...it is just about Friday! The weekend is finally here. Still not feeling great, so I seemed to be counting down the days until the weekend!

2) Sleepy doggies. Would you want to get out of bed?

3) My pattern for A Verb for Keeping Warm's Pro-Verbial Club was released this week!

SNow plants 9

I hope you joined, but if you didn't, it'll be available in the spring. Go take a peek and heart it on ravelry if you'd like :)

4) Bridget Jones. I couldn't resist downloading it to my kindle Tuesday. Now if only my head wouldn't hurt so much so I could keep reading it :)

5) I am feeling well enough to read one of my favorite bloggers, the Yarn Harlot. This post just warmed my heart to no end. Could be the baby feet in the last photo? Could be that I love knitters? Or just the happy ending?

6)No baby niece yet, but another easy baby hat. Still not feeling well enough for anything too challenging, so I grabbed a skein of Anzula Squishy that has been wound for quite some time and cast on Keegan.

Squishy baby hat

Speaking of Anzula, I just made another donation to their indiegogo campaign. Just 3 days left and I really hope they at least get to their first goal of $15,000! They have been so supportive of indie designers and I truly enjoy working with them that I can't help but cheer them on! If you haven't had a chance to check out their campaign, please do! Every little bit adds up!

7) I tried a new recipe from one of my favorite cookbooks, Homemade with Love: Simple Scratch Cooking from In Jennie's Kitchen. The baked sole with lemon, olives and herbs was fabulous and easy and everyone loved it (and picky me didn't even include the olives).

There you go. Seven good things. Eight if you include blogging twice in one week. Little hints that life is getting back to normal a bit hopefully. I'd love to hear what good things have been happening for you guys..... any new projects? New recipes? Ok, you can also talk about Rhinebeck....I'll try not to be jealous. I'm just wondering why I didn't take Cupcakefaerie up on her suggestion of us going this year.....

Happy Weekend!!!

Knitting all the small things

You know that light at the end of the tunnel I mentioned in my last post? Well, wouldn't you know it at the end of the tunnel was me being sick. ha! And can you believe I went to what I thought would be a quick doctor's appointment this week without my knitting? Four hours later I was seriously regretting not having it with me.

I lost my voice Friday, but at least it's an excuse to stay home this weekend and knit a few wee things for my baby niece that is due any day now.  Yesterday I was going to show you this picture....

But look at it now.....

IMG_0791

A baby hat featuring part of my Rathmore pattern. I can't wait to make a larger one for Lil' Snowboarder. This knit up so quickly in the lovely Anzula For Better or Worsted. SO squishy!!  Oh, and they have just one week left of their indiegogo campaign! Go help them out if you can!

I'm on to the next wee little hat...

Won't it look perfect with these onesies I got for the baby?

These were from this great etsy shop!

My sister's friends and I threw her a baby shower last month. I can't believe the little magpie (we think that may be her blog nickname) will be here any day now. A few photos I wanted to share from the shower...

The banner was from this etsy shop. Would definitely recommend them!

The mommy and daddy to be!

My sister received quite a few lovely handmade items at the shower. I wasn't able to get pictures of them all, but look at this gorgeous blanket! Baby is going to have lots of snuggly blankets!

Another SF Giants Naylor Street hat and I even did a bit of embroidery too!

Go Irish!!

I can't wait to see the little pumpkin wearing this! Oh, by the way, this is Quince & Co. Lark and I just love it! Great stitch definition and so soft.

Hedwig for the baby's room....made by my sister-in-law. Love!

And I made her a Peekaboo Penelope (hope to have that pattern out next month!).  This one is made with a skein of Plucky Knitter Primo Sport. Love the red!

Light

IMAG1954

See that? That's the light at the end of the tunnel. Well, at least I think that is.

The winner of the Anzula mini skein contest is Tracey (aka Tbmccarthy on ravelry)! And the runner up winners of Rathmore are Arlene (4arlene on ravelry) and DanaRae19! The Anzula ladies still have a little less than 2 weeks to raise a lot more money on their campaign, so if you haven't had a chance to check it out, please do. And if you'd like another chance to win the mini skeins, check out this post here.

Here's to a week filled with lots of light!
Happy Knitting!

P.S. My copy of Itty-Bitty Hats is well-loved. If you don't have this one, it is a great collection of baby hats! That's one of the pumpkin hats in progress above.
