Summer of Socks!

It is definitely the summer of socks around here! Look at all my sock project bags with various socks in there!

Summer of Socks!
This picture is also serving as a visual reminder to me that I need no more cute fabric project bags. At least not in the near future.

Mom's Cotty sock
There has even been some sock knitting! Finished mom's first Cotty sock! Loving how this Rare Gems knit up.

And its just 32 more days until Sock Summit! I just can't wait!!! I'll be taking two classes- Colorful Stitches (I think that's the name of it!) with Tina and Anna Zilborg and Designing the Next Monkey with Amy Singer! So excited!! And then there's the market....oh the sock yarny temptations!!!

I'll also hopefully be blogging and knitting a bit more for the next four weeks since today marks the first day of Snowboarder's 4 week trip out of the country...sniffle sniffle He'll be in Japan for two weeks for work, then Europe for another two for work/fun. I'm trying to focus on the positive....that time away will leave lots of time for working out (I didn't win the June Smackdown! But July shall be mine!), knitting, reading, blogging, and my own mini-traveling (next weekend to Reno to visit my Great Aunt, the following weekend to Portland, and then right before Snowboarder gets home, I'm off to Sock Summit!).

Plus, in June, we spent way too much time together! As much as we could :) Here are some pictures when he met me and my girlfriends at the Ferry Market in San Francisco!

The Girls
The Girls! We've known each other since we were six years old!!

Hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend!!!

Happy Sock Knitting!

The time will fly by! Lucky Snowboarder, I'd loooove to go to Japan. Of course, business-travel is never fun. Oh and I'd come back with my credit card's maxed out.

You do have really cute sock bags. I think that they make knitting even more fun!

I am freakin' out about the 2 pairs of socks I need to do this month (along with some other WIPs), let alone the number of socks you have OTNs! LOL

You and the man are too cute together...as you know absence will make the heart grow fonder! ;o)

Enjoy mini vacays too!!

Hopefully the time will go by quickly.

I'm lovin' the Cotty's! Both your Rare Gem version and the pattern in general.

The project bags are so good for organization. One day I'll learn to sew and make some for myself. I'm not allowing myself to buy any in an effort to force craftiness on myself.

I love your rare gem Cotty! Do you think if you beg Tina she'll make a new another colorway? hehe

Enjoy your extra knitting time. It'll go by faster than you think. And it sounds like you have lots of fun stuff planned to help it along.

I love that puppy dog bag!

What do you mean you don't need any more cute project bags? Isn't that somewhat like saying, "I don't need any more sock yarn"? Unthinkable!

I don't think I've seen a sock knit yet in the Cotty pattern that I haven't loved! Great job!
I don't know if Snowboarder can hear you though....it appears as though he's still wearing the iPod! :)

32 days? Eee! I gotta get crackin'!

Love all those bags--they tend to multiply overnight don't they?

You are so blessed to have such long time friends! Enjoy your recharge as snowboarder takes off - it is so wonderful after they have been away and you really miss them:) And that sock - gorgeous! I love the doggy bag as well!

Love the sock, and all the cute fabric project bags. Especially the super cute dog print one.

Enjoy the knitting while Snowboarder is gone. I know it's easier said than done, but try and enjoy it :) g

Surely making your own project bag doesn't count, right? :)

Love the rare gem socks for your mom!

What fun! A trip to the Ferry bldg. with Snowboarder and girlfriends.

How wonderful to have such longtime friends :) Great picture of you and Snowboarder. I know you'll miss him, but it'll go fast :) Hehe..I spy a few familiar fabrics there too? Great looking Cotty too! I agree, that pattern knits up well!

Oh! He can bring you back tons of Japanese stitch dictionaries! And Habu yarn! And other weird Japanese things! It will be all good.

A month will go by so quickly. Mom's Cotties look great - but not as great as you and the snowboarder :0)

glad you got into some great classes at sock summit.

Just think of Snowboarder's trip as a way to get lots of stinkin' cute Japanese stuff! And I'm sure we'll all keep you busy on the knitting front before SS09.

Heh, I've been thinking of sewing my own drawstring bags, but leaving the zippered variety to schroedinger & piddleloop.

Love your mom's Cotty too.

Well, Sock Summit will make that last part of not seeing Snowboarder go faster! More time to knit, right? And come up with more patterns for us!
