It is my new design for Kollage Yarn's spring collection. The small version takes just one skein of Creamy yarn, the larger two skeins.
I'll admit, as much as I love knitting socks and designing socks, there is definitely an instant gratification to smaller projects like this. I can't wait to knit another one for me!
But, there is a problem. The pattern doesn't have a name yet. Usually one comes to me rather quickly or while I'm knitting the project, but this one. I'm stumped.
The colorway is Purple Poem. For some reason I immediately thought of springtime in Paris when I saw this color. Perhaps it was wishful thinking. The Creamy yarn is made from milk. Disco called it Creamy McDreamy and that name is definitely stuck in my head. And the scarf is so drapey, that that made Disco think of Drapery, as in Don Draper of Mad Men, which I'm watching right now. Love Mad Men.
But still no name.
That's where you all come in. I'm hoping you guys will have some fabulous suggestions for me! And to get those creative juices flowing, I'll be sure to send a lucky random winner some pretty yarn from my stash!

It reminded me of Purple Rain, the way the pattern waves down from one end to the other.
Very pretty! It reminds me very much of Wisteria flowers, both the color and the way it cascades down, so that is probably what I would name it.
I agree that it is very springlike. How about Spring Twist Scarf?
I thought River, and then Ripple, which led me to make up Rivvle.
I'm so bad at naming things! But as a suggestion, you've primarily named your socks after people dear to you, and your 1st shawl after a place with meaning. Maybe you should stay with that theme and think of a place, since it's a scarf? How about Reno?
I thought wisteria too. How about Waving Wisteria?
Going with the McDreamy line of thought, how about "Dream A Little Dream"

What a beautiful scarf! The pattern actually looks like shamrocks or clovers to me...how about "Trefoil" which is a 3-leafed clover or symbol.
they just look like mickey mouse heads (the eyelets) to me!

I'd call it Le Petit-Pont. This is the name of an actual bridge across the Seine in Paris, and translates as "the little bridge".
Thistle River (for the color and the way it runs in little rivulets)

I see bubbles when I look at your beautiful scarf. I like the double entendre of the name 'Effervescent': bubbly and vivacious.
Though it would puzzle french speakers what about Lilas Lait or Lavende Lait (lilac or lavendar milk).
Or Reve Lilas (with a ^ over the first e in reve)... lilac dream.
That is gorgeous. It reminds me of trendrils. How about Purple Trendrils? Or for the Grey's Anatomy fans: Dreamy Trendrils. It works both ways - his hair and your gorgeous scarf.

I totally see those mickey mouse heads. Really funny. I thought of that painting "The Scream" with the face - mouth open, hands on the cheeks. Maybe it's because I'm in a Halloween mood, but it looks like a mass of tiny ghosts or spirits.
How about Spring Berries, or Berry Clusters, or Waves of Berries? It definitely looks berries to me.

Foxglove. Or Paulownia. (it's a tree with lovely purple flowers; I first saw it in Paris and your springtime in Paris comment sent me thinking that way. But it's probably too obscure, so Foxglove would be my choice.)

So many good names so far, and lots of us see water in your pattern...but I also saw the "holes", which made me think of Lights On The Water. Beautiful.

or Lavendar in Provence, since you mentioned France (oh...or was it Paris?!) Anyways, Herbs de Provence has lavendar in it, so I guess that's why I get the impression that there is lavendar there!-lol!
It makes me think of waves, so to combine that with the Drapers (cause I love Mad Men too) I think it should be called the Croton Bay scarf. Ossining, NY, where the Drapers lived, is right off Croton Bay.

How about.... Irish Trefoil? The design look's like the clover plant so I went with that. Although you made it with the lavender color, others may use a different color so I stayed away from using a color in the name. But the design stays the same so.... Irish Trefoil.
Very pretty! This pattern stitch made me think of spring and snow drop flowers that are a similar shape.

It totally reminds me of collecting blueberries (or lingonberries too, to that matter, but they're red..) every fall back home. So I'm for Blueberry.
The lace pattern kinda looks like Edvard Munch's "The Scream" to me. Maybe call it "Edvard"?
I think you should name this after someone special...Puddles! Of course, it might cause some jealousy.
