Good things.

After way too long of a blog absence, I could go on and on about the trials and tribulations of the past month. But really, who wants to hear that?! The month has been a blur anyways. So I'll tell you about the good stuff that has been going on instead of the drama of hospitals, nursing homes, and not enough sleep.

1. Pa is home!!  From a "he'll be home in 3 days" recovery to a "25 days later" he is home and the doggies sure are happy (well, we all are, but the doggies really really missed Pa being home with them all day). Thank you so much for the good juju and prayers the past month. We felt them :)

2. Disco ran her race and you guys were awesome in helping to support her! I promised yarny prizes, and though they are very delayed, here they are. Four lucky winners will be receiving a prize:  Margaret (aka Little Gidding Farm), Joan (ravelry name anargol), Kim (aka KnitChickKim), Andy (aka Andrea).  I've emailed you all. Thank you everyone for helping!

3. Little Guy! That kid sure does make me smile!!

4. Poolside knitting. It sure did feel indulgent during the last few days of summer. I'm fairly certain this was taken while the kids were in the pool and I was just trying to stay awake. I haven't swam in over a month and I'm sure missing it. Hoping to get back to the lap swimming this week.

5. I'm so honored to be designing for A Verb for Keeping Warm's Pro-Verbial Yarn and Fiber Club. I absolutely love Kristine's store and her yarns. I designed my sister's wedding shawl, Nestldown, with Verb's Shimmering Tussah Silk, and my stash is overflowing with their lovely, naturally dyed yarns. There club is open for just a little while longer, and my pattern will be exclusive to them initially, so treat yourself to a fantastic club!

6.  Luther. Enough said.

7. Notre Dame football!! Although this weekend will be the first weekend where we'll be able to watch the game as a family like we typically do! I'm looking forward to that!!

8. Finally being able to show you guys some baby knits! My sister's baby shower was last weekend and it was lovely. I'm hoping to do a proper post on it in the next week or so, but I can't wait any longer to show you this. Isn't the Owlet sweater the cutest?! Such a great pattern. And knit in Plucky Knitter Bulky, it was quick to knit! Perfect for Plucktember too! By the way, my Plucktember sale is still going...details here.

I made the short-sleeved version since I loved Melynda's version! She has notes on her ravelry page about her modifications.

9. Most of you know that I love Anzula Yarns and the fabulous Sabrina, the dyer behind Anzula, and her awesome team! Well, they have started an Indiegogo campaign to bring air conditioning to their yarn factory (seriously can't imagine dying yarn without air conditioning in the Fresno heat?!?!) and of course I wanted to support them. They have been so supportive of me, from yarn support, to working together on designs for TNNA, it was a no-brainer for me to support them. If you haven't checked out their campaign, please take a few minutes to.

10. More yarny giveaways!!!  To help spread the word about their Indiegogo campaign, Anzula has given me a package of 17 mini skeins of their For Better or Worsted Yarn to giveaway to one lucky winner!! I wish I had taken a picture today to show you the gorgeous colors! I promise to do that in the next few days. So how can you win these? First, please check out the indiegogo campaign. Then let me know if you have any experience using Anzula's gorgeous yarns (e.g., your favorite yarn, colorway, project, or just lusting after a particular yarn of theirs). Or you can share some of the good things going on with you the past few weeks. Feel free to share, tweet, or tell your friends about the giveaway.  I'll also be gifting two other lucky winners with my Rathmore pattern, which uses For Better or Worsted. The contest will run through 11:59pm PST on Sunday, September 29.

I hope all has been well with you guys!!  I'm hoping things will settle down in these next few weeks.

Happy Knitting!!

I have quite a few skeins of Anzula in my stash. Little Man helps me pick them out...and apparently he has a think for Cloud in the "Lady in Red" colorway. I've found three skeins in my stash, all from different trips to Nine Rubies (and all, thankfully, the same dyelot). I know I have more than those, however.

Also, depending on funding, I may be able to send something to them :)

No Anzula for me. Living where I do, there is a yarn drought if the good stuff. Good things the past week or two: Hubs and I celebrated 22 years, with my sister and her hubs celebrating 27 years and my parents celebrating 52.

I'm so glad to hear Pa is finally home! I hope the rest of his recovery is smooth and speedy :-)

I've not used Anzula yarn yet. The only time I've seen it was at Sock Summit, but I didn't buy any figuring I would have other opportunities to do so. Every time I see Rathmore I want to knit it. Like NOW. LOL Not sure why I haven't cast it on yet...

I have not had the pleasure of using Anzula before and would love to! I've heard wonderful things about their yarn, probably quite a few times on this blog in particular. ;)

Life has been full of good things recently; vacation to Disney World, my beautiful daughter, reconnecting with high school friends. Awesome stuff. Glad to hear your long list as well, Carrie.

My mom gave me a skein of Anzula yarn in a merino/bamboo base. The colorway was a light blue/bottle green. I used it to make Ysolda's Marin shawl, and it worked beautifully.

My parents live just north of Fresno, so I know how hot the valley gets. They need AC!

I hope your dad continues to feel better!

I hadn't heard of these lovely ladies until I saw a shared link to their Indiegogo project. I love their spunk and their colors are incredible on my computer screen. I donated to their project. No one should have to do anything in Fresno's heat, but especially not dyeing yarn!

As far as my life, I have been having SO much fun knitting for my 2 great-nieces who are 10 months and one year old. Those little skeins of colors would be a great deal of fun!l

I was introduced to Anzula in the bag of the month club at Slipped Stitch Studios. I used the Dr Who colorway to knit a cowl and LOVED it! It is a dream to knit with. I will definitly use it again soon. Wish a local shop carried it...

I just discovered Anzula's yarn at the Fancy Tiger Craft shop in Denver. LUST -- absolutely !! I spotted the Azula Nebula ... and immediately had a "vision" of shawl ... I confess ... I'm obsessed with having copious quantities of Nebula!

I love Anzula! Besides simply stashing some to oogle over, I used 3 skeins of the wonderful Dreamy to make a super luxurious Color Affection. My mom loves her Arbutus cowl made from Cricket. And my to do list has Knocknagree to be made with Oasis....really, who can pass on camel? Just find your way to an Anzula trunk show and you'll fall in love!

I just discovered Anzula's For Better or For Worsted randomly, on a drive from Texas to Florida. We stopped in Tallahassee for lunch (and OK, I Googled yarn stores so we had to visit one) - I wandered around the store and fell in love with Anzula! Two skeins came home with me - an unlabeled blue and Prince (purple). I've already made a hat with the blue and love it more each day!

I had the pleasure of knitting a few samples for Sabrina, but my favorite was a hat made with Oasis in Coco. Love!!

I have never had the pleasure of trying their yarns but I supported the campaign because I love small companies and try to help them thrive whenever I can.

I finished a silk-painting commission this week. That is my good news.

I've been so bad with keeping in touch. Forgive me.

All good news from you. Yay! So happy to hear your Pa's finally back home. I hope you get back to a somewhat normal routine. I miss seeing your knitting and design.

Hmm not worked with Anzula yet. So many choices, so little time.

Hope you have a great week!

Haven't tried Anzula yet - thanks for the intro! My brother-in-law just moved to Turlock, so I may need to head over to Fresno next visit to see some of their yarns in person. The pics look gorgeous! Love the cowl pattern, also.
