We're headed into the last four days of the Knitting Olympics and I know you are wondering about whether on not my Tickled Pink Blanket that Rocks is going to medal.
Well, I just might not make it to the podium :(
I've trained well and have woven in all the ends as I go along.
And the yarn is getting smaller.
The blanket now measures ~37 x 37. Considering I started at ~20 x 20, that's pretty good! But it is probably going to finish at 46 x 46. Yeah. I know. Not going to happen.
I'm down to where I can count how many strips are left! Just 7 left! But the strips get bigger and bigger. Then there is the border.
We'll see. I'm not giving up yet. However, I worry I may be partying too much in the Olympic Village starting tonight (oh, my Olympic Village may also be known at Stitches West!).
I'll keep you posted!
Happy Knitting!

Have you met Lil' Guy! I'm spending the weekend with him while his mom and dad have fun in Mexico!
It just means I've needed to be creative with my Olympic Knitting!
Doesn't everyone knit on blankets at the bounce house?
Lil' Snowboarder was a great help with Lil' Guy! He just loves her to bits and will do whatever she's doing (including...sleeping in!! well, til at least a reasonable hour). Of course, I've also had to explain to Lil' Snowboarder that, no, the blanket is not for her. She thinks I'm kidding though.
Okay, back to knitting. Must take full advantage of naptime.
Oh, and by the way. Curling. Really? Watched it this morning while Lil' Guy played with his cars. Interesting. But I kept wanting to say, really?
Happy Weekend!

Olympic Update!

Have you been glued to the tv watching the Olympics?! I've been!
And that has resulted in a bit of progress on my Tickled Pink Blanket that Rocks! I was dismayed Friday night, thinking there was no way I was going to finish this. But I'm making steady progress, and well, when I run out of yarn, I'll be done!

Bring on the Knitting Olympics!!
17 days to challenge myself! Well, remember this?
My Tickled Pink Blanket that Rocks! I cast this on almost two years ago! And it is only maybe 25% done! I have two more skeins of Socks that Rock Heavyweight in Jasper for the border not even shown. They haven't been wound yet.
I have the best equipment! My signature circular needles that I haven't even really used yet?!?!
And of course, these gorgeous colors of Socks that Rock heavyweight! Go Team Blue Moon!!
I honestly am not sure if I can finish this. But, I'm bound and determined to try. And just how happy would I be to show this to Cockeyed and Ettamae at the Blue Moon booth at Stitches West all finished and complete!
But, just in case, I do have a project picked out for Team Plucky Knitters!
This may become these!
And this....wouldn't this be gorgeous?
I love seeing everyone's Knitting Olympics projects!! Here's to an awesome Olympics!!!
Less than hour until cast on time!!!
Happy Knitting Olympics!

Happy Birthday to me!
This year...year 36...I think it is going to be a good one! And just in case I wasn't sure, well, Disco made sure it started right!
I tried not to cry as I opened up this very special gift. She knit me a pair of socks. Socks that Rock, no less. Other than my Sockapalooza pal a few years ago, this is my only other pair of socks knit for me! Thank you thank you Disco!
Aren't they just lovely!! And the gorgeous shawl pin! And Teddy, he made me a golden gate bridge birthday card! I will wear these socks knit with love at Stitches West this year! You'll be here in spirit Disco, til next year!
It has been a great birthday so far. Its going to be a good year.
Now bring on the Knitting Olympics!!

No! Not yet! The weekend can't be over yet!
It was a busy, but fun weekend! Yesterday involved hanging out with Cupcakefaerie and friends. Look at Terry spin!
I shall resist. I shall resist. I shall resist.
Look at SnBLeslie's pretty Uncle Frank sock!
Well, they aren't King Cake or beignets, but these brownies were a hit at our family Super Bowl Party today!
Go Saints!! What a great game! So excited for their fans and the city of New Orleans!!
Work and life have been pretty hectic in the new year, but I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel! A fun week ahead....dad's birthday, my birthday, the start of the Olympics, Knitting Olympics, Valentine's Day, and something to really look forward too....a 3-day weekend!!!
Have a great week!
