Stuffed.

Lots of delicious food in my tummy tonight. And so many leftovers for the next few days!  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here and I hope you all had a special day too.

Yes, that is my sister making the turkey cupcakes kiss.  No, she isn't 12. Just acts it :)

So, are any of you doing any Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday shopping?  I'll be honest, I've been known to do some shopping on this holiday weekend, but I'm just not sure I'm up to battling the crowds tomorrow.  Or the fact that I would have to get out of my pajamas :)  I may do some online shopping, so if there is anything that's a must, let me know!

IGK-ThanksSale12-GroupAd

I am offering a Thanksgiving holiday sale on all of my Irish Girlie Knits Designs through November 26.  Receive 25% off any pattern OR collection, no coupon necessary.  I'm also including my new design in this sale....

Naylor Street

OlympicHat

I love that this hat features multiple sizes AND two different design options: one with yarn overs and one without.  Unisex.  Perfect for the entire family.

Remember this hat?  Lovely Plucky Knitter cashmere.  Finally finished.  I think this may be my sister's lucky cashmere hat for all of her future Giants games.  Afterall, they did sweep the world series this year.  :)

Goodness isn't baby Padraig the cutest peanut ever?  So peaceful!

Naylor Street 6

I knit him a few of these for his baby shower way back when.  Who would have thought it would take me so long to publish the pattern that he could model it?!

Naylor Street 8

I know Padraig....I took forever!

Another special thanks to Jill, my fabulous graphic designer and friend, who makes my job so much easier with her help with pattern layouts.  Thank you Jill!  And Tricia for her wonderful photos of Leslie! I am blessed with talented friends!

Now for those of you who already own The Woods Family Collection, this pattern has been added to it as a bonus pattern and it should already be in your Ravelry Library :)

If you'd like to purchase the pattern, it is on sale for $5.00 from now until Dec.1. If you buy it before the end of my Thanksgiving sale, it will actually be $3.75 or if you purchase it as part of the collection, $13.50 (that's 5 patterns, regularly $6.00 each = $30).

I have to say I'm thankful for a few days off to continue catching up on the IGK stuff....blogging two days in a row, it seems decadent!  Love you guys.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love you Mimi.

Such a sad post to write.

Mimi

Mimi, my great-aunt, who with her two sisters, Cotty and Dotty (my grandma), raised my mom and her brother, and has been like another Grandmother to me, had a massive stroke Friday evening.  My mom, brother, sister, and I were able to come up to Reno to be with her and say goodbye.  I was with her all day today and shortly after the priest came to give her her last rites, and the 49ers and Giants both won (she was a big fan!), Mimi passed away peacefully while I was by her side.

I know she is in a better place and with her sisters and brother.  I miss her already.  Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers this weekend.  I so appreciate you guys being there for me and my family.

My heart is broken.

I love you Mimi.

Finally

What a week! But I finally feel like summer is here! Stressful meetings, writing reports nonstop, and just not in enough hours in the day is what the last few m0nths have felt like! I'm going to enjoy the more relaxed pace of summer as much as possible!

Starting with this weekend....

1. Carnival.
2. Farmer's market.
3. Swimming.
4. More carnival fun.
5. Another farmer's market.
6. More swimming.
7. Knitting. Knitting. Knitting.
8. Making yummy salads for dinner and the week ahead.
9. Catching up on some movie-watching tonight too....Shutter Island and Valentine's Day...good combo?!

I'm hoping to get lots of knitting done too!!

Starting with this sock. I think I said a few weeks ago I wanted to work on it.

Yeah. This sock has been single for way too long. I must finish it! This was my original test knit for my Courage design for the Woolgirl Oz Club Cowardly Lion Kit. I used Socks that Rock lightweight, which was in between both the very fine fingering Union Center Knits Sock yarn and then the Sport Sock Yarn (see picture below).

But the pattern is very easy to modify!

And it is now available to the public!

I also went ahead and made The Woods Family Collection, an ebook featuring the four sock patterns named after my Grandma and her siblings.

The Woods Family Collection

Ever since I designed Cotty, I knew I wanted to do this. Four sock designs for $15, available here
