Sock Summit....The Classes!

First, thank goodness for blogland. I don't think I would have survived this week of post-Sock Summit blues without everyone's fabulous pictures and stories from Sock Summit! It was such an amazing event, its hard coming back down to earth!

I took two classes and a one-hour lecture while at Sock Summit! I loved every minute of all of them. On Thursday, my one-hour Turkish Stitches class with Anna Zilboorg was just awesome! Such an incredible woman (I wish I had thought to take more pictures of some of the fabulous teachers...I'll blame the yarn fumes for not doing so). And quite interesting to learn about Turkish Stitches and colorwork. Then Friday morning I had Colorful Stitches with Tina Newton and Anna Zilboorg. I was just glowy all day from the information!

Plus I got to hang out with Stacey and Cristi!

Believe it or not, this little swatch represents the first time I have knit with four different colors of individual yarns! Crazy, I know! One thing I took away from all of my classes was to be a bit more adventurous and more confident in my knitting! My Sunday class with Amy Singer about how to design the next monkey sock was so exciting and inspiring!

Back to my Friday class, our class did get quite colorful too! I'm hoping our dear yarn harlot will retell the events of this class in a perfect way that I just can't, but there were definitely some men at Sock Summit! You may have heard that one of our classmates had an awful incident with her straight knitting needle and had to be rushed to the hospital (thank goodness she is okay and has had such great humor about the incident over on ravelry).

Let's just say that bolt cutters were involved.

Seriously. Only at a knitting convention!

Happy almost Friday!!

What a time, Cristi, Stacy, and Tina in a class! Did you behave while Tina was teaching ;) Yikes that must have hurt her, I've been following that thread, she's been a good sport about it.

Sorry that someone was hurt but I gotta say...knitting AND firemen? Does life get much better than that?

So glad your classmate is ok and what a story she'll have to tell! Can you imagine the conversation back at the firehouse after that call? Oh my! I love the pic of class with Tina peeking in from the other side of the frame. That was just perfect :-)

Pretty swatch--were you going to make a sock out of that? That would be on thick sock huh?

I wonder what story the emergency response guys would tell?

I've been enjoying your posts about sock summit. What a wild time! I found the posts about the injured knitter. Crazy stuff. Glad she's ok.

So glad it turned out ok, but
I gotta wonder how the story's being told around the firehouse.

Think they'll all go on 'high alert' if they here of another gathering of knitters?

I can't believe you left everyone hanging like this! You really got some great shots I hope you share!!!
I just finished my pair of Cotty's, I can't wait to show you!!!

What cracked me up about all the Rav talk about the poor knitter's needle impalement was the concern that the handsome firefighters had used the bolt cutters on her Signature needles as opposed to actual less costly Susan Bates/Boyes/big box craft store brand that was the offending item.

I am having a hard time finding the discussion on Ravelry. Can you point me in the right direction? I am curious....

lol, WHAT?? I go away for one little week and miss knitting related impalement?? I'm glad she's ok, though, and will definitely have to do a little digging on the the incident.
