Queen Alice

Alice in Wonderland premieres today! I don't think I'll see it opening weekend, but it looks fabulous and I can't wait to see it!

Perfect timing for Woolgirl to send out the first shipment of her Alice in Wonderland Themed Sock Club. Who of course to start with than Alice herself?

Warning: Woolgirl Alice in Wonderland Sock Club Spoilers Ahead

I just love this kit! The Alice Journal, the adorable project bag, the wee Alice stitch marker...

the yummy yarn from Dashing Dachs, and look at that pattern! Yay! I can finally show you the socks that I designed for this kit! I'll admit I was a bit nervous to design for a particular "theme" but I think I worked it out!

The socks begin with the daisy stitch, just as Alice's journey began in a field of daisies. And then she tumbles down the cable-filled rabbit hole!

Meet Queen Alice. The pattern is exclusive to Woolgirl for the next six months, but then will be released to the public (hey, probably right in time for the DVD release!)!

I was a bit sad to send these socks off to Woolgirl, but now that I have my kit, I can't wait to cast on!

Happy Friday! May it be filled with a bit of Wonder!

Beautiful combination of color and pattern. Bravo! A sure hit. (the socks, not the movie...not a fan of Tim Burton)

I'll be honest, I have zero interest in ever seeing that movie (a Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp and Tim's wife Helena? Wow! I've never heard of that before!).

But those socks are amazing!!! I like the way the top cuff cables are kind of like a crown! Off with their ankles! ;-)

Oh happy! Another loverly sock pattern from you, Dearie ;-).
I love the Cotty pattern so much, I just want to make Cotties over and over (working on another pair now).
You know, I'm also making a pair of legwarmers, and I don't like working this pattern very much, soooo, I was thinking it might be a interesting idea to make a Cotty version of legwarmers. Whadya think? I know it's going to be too warm for legwarmers soon, but still . . . ?
Blessings,
G

I'm kicking myself that I didn't get this kit...you'd think I would know better, right?

BUT...I did get to see these lovely, lovely socks in person last Sunday!! Wowie IGK...these are stunning. I can't wait for 6 months to go by so that I can add the pattern to my IGK pattern notebook!! Yep...you have your own notebook, my friend!!

And, I can finally say "Happy Friday"...no more almost! :)

Love the pattern and will knit it as soon as it becomes available to the public! Not so sure I'll love the movie; I'm not a Tim Burton fan.

Fab socks! I saw Alice on Thursday (a friend of mine is a critic, so we got in on an advance screening). It had some moments, but overall, I'd give it a low B, maybe even a B-. I'd wait for the DVD and Netflix it!

OH my gosh! Those socks are perfect! I literally just got home from seeing the movie and that color blue is the exact colors of her many dresses. Really beautiful job on those socks.
