I love the new year for all the hope and fresh starts it brings. It has been nice to ease into 2013 with family and friends. Today was lunch with the girls for some knitting.
Then I made a new soup recipe, The Barefoot Contessa's Winter Minestrone sans the pancetta and spinach.
It was delicious! You know it is good when everyone has seconds, right?! It felt good making a new, healthy recipe and putting leftovers in the freezer for nights where I don't have the energy to cook.
I also swatched for my new design...
The swatch isn't exactly the design, but the yarn, wow oh wow! Knitted Wit's Shine yarn blocked so beautifully that I can't wait to get this started tomorrow! Right after I do some work work (boo! must start back to work tomorrow, but at least it can be from home in my jammies!).
And tonight I'm enjoying a new cuppa tea from Teavana. A happy new year surprise gift arrived today and it sure did brighten my day!
I also hope that the underdog team, Louisville, beating an SEC team, Florida, is a good sign for that National Championship too! GO Irish!
Oh, one more thing. I didn't spend New Year's Eve with Little Guy, but the picture he sent sure did kick off the new year with a smile! Here he is and Shadow dog :) Shadow has been sick, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Happy New Year!

Oh sending all the good vibes, healing drool and crossed paws that I have Shadow's way! Love the food pics and the swatch looks stunning. g
Just found you recently, and hope to follow you into 2013!
BTW, I'm trying to convince Hubby that I do not have a knitting problem, but it's hard to convince when that's all I want to do all day! Lol!
