So close...

IMG_5390

I finished the body of the February Lady Sweater last night! Let's just say Snowboarder summed it up today when I tried it on, "Oh wow!" I can't wait to finish this! I think I stalled for a bit when I got to the part to decide on the length and was worried I would mess up. But I think I found a good length (pre-blocking of course).

All that's left are the sleeves. I'm not sure this will be done before I leave for my trip to Portland on Friday, but just in case, I want you guys to chime in on the buttons. I can't decide. Now I see why people have a button stash. This being only my second sweater for me, and first one needing buttons. I lucked out at As Cute As A Button, an online store.

So tell me what you think?

celtic 1

Celtic buttons #1
The ones I thought I would like best, but I'm not sure

swirls

Swirls
A more feminine look maybe? I like these too.

celtic 2

Celtic buttons #2

When they arrived I thought they were too dark, but taking the photos I actually liked them a lot with the color of the sweater.

Who knows?!?!?!?!

Back to knitting! Oh, and if you were on the fence about using STR heavyweight for this sweater, go check out Sam's swatch!

Happy Monday!

Ooh I like that last button option. They look fantastic against the yarn.

I like the swirls. They seem more goth like the sweater color. You zipped right through the body. Mine is a little slower but maybe in time for the 100 degree days of August!

I think I like the first celtic knot ones best, but any of them will look fab... there is no wrong choice.

I like the swirly second buttons best :) Can't wait to see the final project!

Wow, that is looking GREAT!! I MUST make one. NOW. For the buttons, at first I was thinking #1 but after looking at them for a while I REALLY think #2 (the swirls) would suit it best. Can't wait to see what you pick!

I like the Celtic ones, but I think I like the swirls better for this sweater. Man you knit that fast! I can only hope it goes that quick for me (when I get around to casting on)!

My favorite butons are number two. but I really like the third choice too. It will be hard to decide. How many total buttons do you need? Would you consider mixing them? I have a couple sweaters that have different buttons on them and it looks good.

Normally I like complicated celtic knotwork (#3), but I have to say I like the first one best.

ooh, what a depth of color that yarn has!
i like the last button selection best. all the buttons are beautiful, but the last one seems right.

The second button does it for me. Great job on the sweater - can't wait to see it finished.

I like the last buttons, but I instinctively avoid anything extra feminine. What ever you choose the sweater is beautiful!

Hmmm... off the cuff, I'd say the second one seems like the right choice for the pattern. But I do like the contrast of the Celtic ones, too. Why don't you safety pin one of each onto the front and try it on?

Celtic button #2 is my vote! I am dying to make this sweater! One day I will.....

Do you have a pic farther back with Swirls or Celtic#2? I'm torn between those 2, but my initial feeling was for Swirls.

I'm going to go with the second celtic button. Can't wait to see the finished sweater!

I vote for Celtic button #2!

They're all great, but my favorite would be the last one - Celtic #2!

I love the Celtic #2 buttons!! Those are beautiful and almost the perfect blend of the first two. Still have that Celtic knot look but a little bit "more" without being as flowery as the middle one. Just my .02

Gorgeous, btw, and the last sweater I did with sleeves I ended up doing both at once on a long circular. I loved it because when they were done they were really done...and they were exactly the same length!

Hmm... For me it's a toss up between the two Celtic designs... They all look great, though.

I love all the buttons. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Very nice, can't wait to see the finished product! O think I like the first button option, but they are all winners!

Third choice, then second. No, Second then third. No,wait....argh. Heck, they're all nice choices. Have fun in Portland, I'll be in old Eire by then. :-)

I love the swirly buttons. They're so pretty and feminine. I cast my FLS on this weekend while up in Oregon. Loving it!

The three options are great. I would pick the second ones the swirly ones seem more in tune with the femininty of the sweater:)

To me, the sharper angles of the last button ties in best with the lace of the February Lady. I vote for that one!

It's hard to say--they're all nice button choices. Just from the photos, I 'd go with the 2nd set but I like the 3rd one too--it just depends on how they look wiht the lace design. Well now, that was helpful, wasn't it?
