Zip a dee doo dah, zip a dee ay

Yippee!

My, Oh My! What a wonderful day!

First, thank you all for your helpful comments about the buttons. Well, helpful in the sense that um, you all didn't do as I hoped, meaning, all pick the same buttons so I could just go with that option! hehehehe All your helpful comments actually just made it harder for me to decide!! So it came down to Snowboarder. He saw the swirls and made a 'not good' funny face, so I went with Celtic buttons #2. I'll go with the comments that said I couldn't go wrong with any of them!

Second, I kind of got a kick out of the comments this past week. For a few minutes last week I thought those cupcakes were going to get more comments then my socks! Not that they weren't worthy or anything, but I didn't even make them! And ask for an opinion, and you guys have a lot to say!! Again, thank you!!

So now I'll show you all some love! You must be sick of these February photos by now, but hang tight for the big photo shoot (hopefully tomorrow or else not until I get back from Portland!!). Until then, leave a comment in this post and I'll pick a random winner! And to make it interesting, in your comment, recommend either a book you love, a pattern you love, or a blog you love (or all three!)! See we're all about the love!! Oh, and of course, the prize, will be something I love that rocks!! Unless you don't knit socks, I'll go stash diving!!

Happy Happy!!

xoxo Irishgirlieknits

I cannot wait to see this sweater, I'm waiting for the perfect yarn for it, and STR might be it! A book I love is The Time Traveler's Wife.

I am so in love with that sweater and can't wait to see how yours turned out. I really need to start one. Let's see...My favorite knitting book is One Skein. I used to read a lot, before I started knitting and when I was younger loved all of the books by VC Andrews. A few years ago I got more out of the library to re-read them to bring me back. Have a great day!

Oh man I hope it dries fast--I can't wait to see it modeled!

A fave book of mine is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn--when I'm feeling financially strapped I read that one and feel better.

Yay! Can't wait to see the sweater! I'm abstaining from contest, given the other good yarn karma :)

Yay! It's blocking! I can't wait to see it modeled. It's gonna look good! As for a recommendation, I'll go with a book. If you have not read The Princess Bride by William Goldman and you loved the movie, you HAVE to read the book. It's even better.

You're taunting us with that sweater at this stage :) As for a book, try something by Jasper Fforde. Different but entertaining.

The latest pattern that I love is the Detonator Socks from Sock Wars 3. I've knit a few of them and will probably knit a few more.

Sending you drying breezes!! My favorite blog (besides your own!)is Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. Not a knitting blog, but damn can this girl write funny stuff! Her photography is beautiful and her husband, Marlboro Man, aint bad to look at either!!

Yay! Almost-done February Lady! I can't wait to see it!

Cristi's right on the book version of the Princess Bride. It's hilarious. The books that I have read more times than I can count are the Hitchhiker's Guide series by Douglas Adams.

Say hi to Portland for me - I miss it already. And your sweater is going to be freakin' gorgeous!

A non knitting blog I absolutely love is Not Always Right - it's perfect for those who have ever worked in retail or in some other way with the public. So Funny!

I don't mind all the posts about the sweater. I've queued it but haven't taken the dive into casting on for it. As for a fun blog to read, can I get bonus points for saying that your blog is one that I enjoy? ha!

I can't wait to see the pics of the sweater post blocking. Hm, book I love, Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos.

I can't wait to see your finished Lady February and I am not sick of her at all! I keep telling myself that I am not allowed to cast on until I finish some WIPs.

Pattern I love at the moment Everlasting Bag Stopper from Knitty. Books I love anything from Alice Walker. Blog I love that I just discovered yesterday is www.crockpot365.blogspot.com. I saw her on Rachel Ray yesterday. She has pledged to use her crockpot everyday in 2008 and she is blogging her recipes everyday. I can not tell you how much this excites me. I can not tell you how much my excitement over a crockpot blog completely freaks me out!!

Book Love: Anything by Bill Bryson
Blog Love: Brooklyn Tweed, omg his photos...
Pattern Love: Faux Isle (or is it Fake Isle??). It was on the now-defunct MagKnits and it takes one skein of kureyon and another plain wool. For minimum effort you get maximum effect - love the kureyon, love the easy stranded knitting.

Love the sweater - can't wait for modeled pics!

enjoy portland - have you tried St. Cupcake? Serious yummers.

Two books I've recently read and loved, The Kite Runner and The Life of Pi. So so good, they had to do battle with the knitting.

Can't wait to see the sweater, because of you it's queued and may just be the next non-sock project!

Woohooo! Can't wait to see it modeled and the buttons too! Hehe..show us food, sorry knitting takes a back seat ;)

Woohoo! I can't wait for the photoshoot.

Book Love: The Rapture of Canaan by Sheri Reynolds
Pattern Love: Anthropologie Capelet
Blog Love: Random Meanderings... but I'm pretty sure you know about that one already. :)

I can't wait to see your Rockin' Lady Sweater!

There should always be more love in the world, so I'll do all three. :) A book I love: Wicked, by Gregory Maguire - the musical was fun and entertaining, but the book is much more dark, deep, and interesting. A pattern I love: the Central Park Hoodie - fun, easy, interesting, and flattering, the perfect combination! And a blog I love: yours - gorgeous pics, happy spirit, fab FOs, and chock full o' STR! :D

Oh, you tease! Can't wait to see the sweater.

Favorite book... hmmm... I don't read as much as I used to, so I don't have any current favorites. But, you can't go wrong with David Sedaris. He has a new one out right now that I'm definitely going to read soon.

This is actually pretty hard to do - picking just one!

Blog is easy: The Yarn Harlot. I use Bloglines, and always save her posting for last. I also love Tales From The Den Of Chaos

Books - I *loved* "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer. Actually I downloaded it from Audible and knitted while I listed to it. I'll second The Time Traveler's Wife - it was excellent too.

My favorite pattern is really tough, but for today I'd say it is the February Lady. A close second would be the Luna Moth Shawl (I've made four or five of them!)

I'm looking forward to seieng the sweater! (and then I'll be sad that I haven't started one for myself!)

I'll list the pattern I'm working on now - Garter Toes by Karen Harper. The pattern is for tow up socks with a short row heel done in garter stitch. You don't have to pick up the wraps - and the best thing is no holes!

can't wait to see your sweater - it's gonna be great! I'd like to recommend everyone read Grimm's Fairy Tales...

You are so cute! Are you bringing the sweater up to model? You may need it this weekend!
My favorite pattern is (please don't laugh)
One Big Granny Square
A book I have read more than once already this summer is and would totally recommend is
The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman. Tons of fantastic information. See you tomorrow!!!

Looking forward to seeing the sweater. I'm loving the Wicked sweater pattern and I enjoyed reading Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates. An interesting fictionalization of Marilyn Monroe's life.

i am anticipating your photo shoot of february. i have queued one for myself, but haven't gone any further. as a sock knitter, i have a major fear of sweater-knitting failure!

favorite book: Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
favorite pattern: any sock pattern by charlene schurch.
my new favorite blog: knitted fresh daily (anniesmarket.blogspot.com)

The nice part of our hot weather is that the sweater will dry so quickly. It will be great to see it when it's all dry.

I'll play just cuz:
Favorite book - anything Jane Austen, but currently re-reading Persuasion. Also am liking Elizabeth Gaskell's North & South (lurve the PBS miniseries)

Favorite pattern - Cookie A's Twisted Flower, like that's a surprise. ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing your sweater! I've started mine, but haven't really had time to work on it...trying to get some other things done. I'm reading The Girl with no Shadow by Joanne Harris...it's the sequel to Chocolat, which I really liked!

I, like everyone else, can't wait to see it. Mine is about 3 inches along!

A favorite drink of mine you might not have tried is Pimms. It's a fantastic summer refresher mixed with lemonade. Dangerous but tasty.

I love Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert - so much I bought 4 extra to give away. It just spoke to me somehow. Favorite blog, hmmm - I love Yarn Ball Boogie - and Flint Knits - so "tell ya how it is" - I like that. Can't wait to see your sweater:)

That pic of the drinks on the deck always makes me thirsty. I just finished reading Cat Bordhi's Treasure Forest and it was a fun read. I agree with Weezalana about Wicked being a fantastic book. My book group read it long before the musical was launched, and it was one of our best discussions of all time--in over 10 years of getting together.

What a wonderful day for you to finish your sweater! Can't wait to see you model it.

Favorite pattern: Fiber trends felted clogs. They make a great gift.

Favorite Book: I love the Dead End Jobs series by Elaine Viets.

Blog I love: Not from Concentrate which is a panel comic.
