Doing this meme makes me miss reading! I've always loved to read but I'll admit, with the knitting obsession, its hard to do both sometimes. I really need to make more time for it (e.g., put the needles down once in awhile). Any great books by women authors you would recommend (either on this list or not)? Happy Reading!

This list made me realise that I have not read anywhere near enough female literature and I did a lit degree. I am going to use this list to put that right. Many thanks for it

Read more Canadian authors (same advice I gave Bezzie and doing my bit for Cancon). A quick read - even if you have seen the movie is the Joy Luck Club (which is on the list). I bawled my eyes out on that one and at times had to put it down then come back to it. I was just thinking I am surprised Louisa May Alcott is not on the list - I love Little Women.

I'll sit on my bed, and use my gingher scissors as a book weight to keep the pages open as I knit. But it can't be lace or anything that takes any concentration--TV knitting!

Great list - I totally recommend My Year Of Meats by Ruth Ozeki. Gotta love the Asian-American women authors.

Didn't you have to read the Joy Luck Club in HS too? We did. You are such a nerd! I love you anyway.

Oooh, you read Possession. What a GREAT book that was. I loved the ending - it almost made my heart stop and I couldn't breathe for the loss and pain of it all. Beautiful.

I'm recommending Snowflower and the Secret Fan to everyone I know.

I'm reading the Glass Castle right now for book club. It's brilliant in a totally horrific way :0)
