Thoughts for the week

I have been cleaning all weekend. All weekend. Thank goodness it is a 3-day weekend for me so that I can at least take some breaks for knitting! My motivation works something like this....clean that drawer and that box and that box and then knit for 30 minutes. Clean that closet (omg! that closet?!) and then knit for an hour.

At least I have a really clean desk right now.

See. I so rarely can show you my desk...hehehe

This week is going to be one of those weeks. Two days of work, then off for a long work weekend in New Orleans again. Busy busy, but at least I'll be enjoying some good food! And the Saints are in the playoffs so it is going to be crazy there this weekend! I'm figuring that even though I'll be working, the team I'll be working with will be so relaxed and hyped up for the game that it should be a good weekend. And I've been to NOLA enough to know that the school I'll be working at on Friday will be having "Saints" day....so I'm bringing my black to wear (don't think I have any gold though?).

My main knit for the weekend is a secret, but I did pull out my Uncle Frank sock in Socks that Rock and work on it a bit because I'll be bringing it to NOLA. The gusset decreases are done, so I'm sure this will be done soon. I do love how this pattern is knitting up, even in a variegated colorway!

And the best thing to clean to, in my opinion, is either a CSI or Law & Order Marathon on tv, and when you need a break from that, well, I got out Season One of The West Wing . Love it.

Here's to a good week!

Happy Knitting!

Good idea using that mug as a pencil cup. I love the way it looks but mine never keeps my tea warm!

Have fun in New Orleans.

Yeah! Cleaning!

(who am I kidding. . . I hate cleaning)

But boy, does it feel good. Pretty desk picture.

I, myself, cleaned out our front hall dresser that, surprisingly, was full of my husband's #$@&. ugh.

And of course, knitting in the meantime. . . mwoo ha ha haaaa. We must take our breaks.

You continue to be a better woman than I...I don't think I'd voluntarily use my day off to clean! Happy travels.

I love your method of motivation when it comes to cleaning!

We went on a cleaning frenzy over Christmas. It stirred up my allergies.

Ughh, cleaning! My house is going to teetering into "Hoarders" territory by the time I get a chance to clean it. I did clear enough of my desk to make a nice working area, though. I can't really use the word "clean" because I achieved my nice work area by smooshing everything over onto the other leg of my desk.

It's so nice to relax after it's done though? Not that I'd know it right now, still not finished with mine since son went back to school. I like your little glass jar o'yarn! Have a good trip!

Noticed that you are bringing A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Just thought I would chime in that I thought it was a very good read... :)

You're so ambitious! I just finally got the last of the Christmas decorations put away this weekend! Love the Uncle Frank and the adorable puppy project bag!

I've tried that, but I lose track of time when I'm knitting and rarely accomplish much cleaning...

Have a great trip!

The hubs got lucky and hit a deal on Amazon for the entire West wing Box set for an amazing deal. I love that show.

I love it when Spike has a CSI marathon on. It's great to knit to! When I clean, it's generally with my iPod and belting out tunes, which I'm sure my neighbors just love. ;)
