Are you ready?

For the XXX Summer Olympics?!!  I can't wait!  My sister and I are already planning an opening ceremonies viewing party!

Of course, around here, the Olympics also mean the Knitting Olympics, or as they are called this year, the Ravellenic Games.

I know I'll be joining Team Plucky and Team Smackdown Smashdown!  I can't wait to participate, but I'll admit, I haven't trained properly.  I have a gazillion projects I think I might do and really have only committed to one, I think.

I want to knit this shawl, but with two colors, to give another option when I publish the pattern.  I'm leaning towards the dark black with the blue, but have wavered between the cream and blue and the grey and blue too.  See, I'm so not prepared.

After that, I'm just not sure.  My list has varied between the following:

baby something
blackberry brambles shawl
Cotty fingerless mitts
baby snowboarder hat
another Dotty hat (another in progress new design)
completely new design  (sorta thinking not at this point)
socks, because you can never have enough, right Dad?

We'll see.  I still have another day and most of the "other" projects are a bit smaller.  What do you guys think?  Any opinions? Thoughts?  Oh, and I do have to finish the current design I'm doing for Sunshine Yarns, so that is going to cut into my time a bit too.

So have you guys all decided what you are knitting? Are you like me and haven't quite decided?  Just in case you are I'm offering a special sale this week!  In the spirit of the 30th Summer Olympics, I'm offering a 30% off individual Irish Girlie Knits Designs from now until July 31!  Just enter the coupon code:  goforgold  in your Ravelry shopping cart.

Happy almost Olympics!!!!

I think the black is too dark for that shawl. I'd go for the grey or white, probable the grey though.

I have my projects picked out. I'm WiP Wrestling for Team Blue Moon and Team Spinning Yarns (details on my blog) If I get all that finished I have about 30 more projects just begging to be started :-)

I'm liking the blue & grey combination. But that's me. After having spent the last week on The Island (Alameda), I think the blue & grey kind of goes with the skies I've seen (grey in the morning and the bright blue in the afternoon).

Now that I've found my WIPs and my Team Tardis yarn, I might actually be able to CO for tomorrow...we'll see. I'm not going to hold my breath :)

I've never participated in the olympic knitting games but I love watching everybody else knit themselves into a frenzy. :)

Agreed with others, I love the blue and grey combo.

How about the gray and the cream? Or if it would work in three colors, gray/cream/blue?

I'm not on any teams, will just keep plugging away on a crib blanket for the newest great-nephew, to be followed by another for his sister, both due in November.

I'm so exited you're going to do Cotty mitts!!

I'm with GeniaKnitz; I like the gray and cream.

No Ravellenic knitting for me, but I'm trying to get some old WIPs out of the knitting basket.

Hey!!Cream & Blue will go together perfect for a shawl & you will look stunning in that But please don't go with blue & black especially black one as it looks horrible for Shawl & you will be considered as fashion disaster which obviously your are not..think before you start knitting.

I'm working on the last five projects I've started this summer. Not officially Ravellenic knitting but I love the look of that shawl. I'll be waiting for the pattern release. Good luck.

You probably won't be shocked to hear that at first I drastically misinterpreted your posting about the "XXX Summer Olympics" lol
