A Contest!

Post 93!! We're getting close to 100!! So, in addition to the other contest mentioned earlier, here's another contest that is going to include a favorite yarn and pattern! Remember the Malabrigo Wavy Scarf? Here's one that Bad Amy just made. And remember the pattern that is available free from Imagiknit with a purchase of some yummy malabrigo. Well, when I was there for their sale a few weeks back, I picked up another skein and a copy of the pattern for someone to win!

Of course I had to pick one of my favorite colors, a gorgeous blue! Don't worry, if we have lots of entries (maybe over 15 or 20) I've got lots of other favorite yarns to share to. You've seen some of my stash.

So here's the deal. You've learned lots about me and I've learned TONS from all my favorite knitbloggers. I'd love to hear a bit more from you guys. I'm talking favorites. In the comments, list the following five favorites: 1) favorite must-knit soon pattern, 2) favorite sock pattern, 3) favorite yarn and/or sock yarn, 4) one of your favorite knit bloggers (I love reading new ones!), and 5) one of your favorite non-knitting things. 5) my new favorite things is all things LUSH. Why had I not discovered their products sooner? LittleMy from the knittyboards sent me a lipsmack that I love and when we were in Boston I tried lots of their products and its my new favorite!

Happy Birthday Zknitter!!! Yes you are lovely, but I was referring to this...

The cutest project tote ever! I almost want this to be my summer purse, but I know I would get it dirty! Plus, it matches this...

A case to hold all my interchangeable needles!! How fabulous! I first drooled over them here, then here, and here, and here too! I was patiently waiting for mine to arrive and I love it!! And it folds up just so.

I also got one to hold my Circular needles!!! Of course, those needles are a bit disorganized, so I'll have to post that organization and that matching case later.

And look how pretty my new skein of Spinel looks next to the gorgeous Amy Butler print. Love them both!

Thanks Zonda!! You rock! Hey, did you see this? You really do. And you all can get your cute needlecases (and I hear maybe the totes in the future) here (well, at least maybe in a few weeks when Z has time to breathe, but send her an email if you're interested!).

This first week of July was just fabulous!! In addition to my purchase from Zknitter arriving, I've been playing on Ravelry since Thursday, had a fabulous time with Little Guy, and 4th of July was just the best yet!! Hanging out with Hot Mama and family and friends was the perfect way to spend it (okay, despite the 108 degree Sacramento weather!). Here's just a few more pictures from the week!

A Monkey Sighting?!

Note to self. Three socks as WIPs is probably too many, even if they aren't all on the needles all at once. And especially if all you want to knit are your monkey socks. Deadlines are the worst sometimes.

Nope. No monkey in the picture below. But it is a Cookie A. pattern :) And technically, it was supposed to be a monkey originally (long sockapalooza story that I shall spare you, okay not so long, but anyways).

Inspired initially by Stilaholic Nartian's BFF socks by Cookie A., here is the first of my Sockapalooza socks. I just LOVE this STR colorway, Love-in-Idleness. I thought it was a colorway I could part with from my stash, but I must say, as I knit these up, it got harder and harder (especially since these socks would probably fit me perfectly too!). Tapmouse, I agree, you should definately have this colorway in your stash!

So where is that Monkey?
Well, it that swing, Little Guy could pass as a monkey! Oh, yeah, note the purple and pink binky in his mouth! Its a miracle first of all that he took it! And it was the only one lying around (because he doesn't really like them), but Auntie Irishgirlie has the magic touch and it seems to be his new favorite little thing!

Look, even when he is awake! And we found a blue one finally! But, still not the monkey I was thinking of.

Look closely. A monkey sighting. Thank goodness. I can't wait to finish. Gryffindor socks for Rowan. BFF socks for Sockapalooza pal. Monkey socks for me :) Priceless.

Happy July!!

I just know its going to be a good month! Its already off to a good start. Look, I finished one of these!

Hermione's Dream Sock! Well, technically, the pattern is Priscilla's Dream Socks from Favorite Socks, but you know what I mean. Not sure I needed to do such a nice pattern for the self-striping yarn, but I've learned lots of things with this pattern (new cast on, short-row heel and toes!). The yarn, well, its really thin. Luckily I have a deadline (and Rowan!) so SSS won't kick in.

Oh, and I also finished book five! I'm now on Book Six (shh! don't tell me anything!). And, my Harry Potter Swap Pal got her package and she started a blog! Go check out Heathermione's fabulous blog!

Since its 4th of July week, I'm taking a bit of time off. Knitting! Yeah!! Get to see Pashyknits this week! And Hot Mama! And Little Guy (lots of Little Guy!!).

And since its the beginning of the month, I thought I'd announce the first of a little contest! We're getting close to our 100th post!!! I'm fairly certain that will be this month! For every comment posted this month (well, up until post 100, I guess), your name will be put in a drawing for some fabulous prizes! Seriously, my stash has quite accumulated since we've started this blog! There will probably be another contest, but this one will be for the "regulars" if you know what I mean :)

Yarn Prize Friday!

Just in time for YPF, my Woolgirl contest prize arrived! I LOVE this colorway! White Oak Studio yarn in the Alias colorway (doesn't this say super-swanky Sydney Bristow undercover?!).





I also couldn't resist the Grey's Anatomy colorway in sportweight. Doesn't this say McDreamy? Actually, McSquishy...the yarn is so soft!





Well, and I also couldn't resist the Posh Yarn either, but we'll save that for another day.

It's Wednesday!

So another WIP Wednesday. I thought I would have Bailey and Puddles help out :)

Bailey seems to like Rowan's Gryffindor sock. I'm almost done with the first sock. I know I need to hurry up (seriously, Rowan gives me the evil eye now anytime she sees me knitting something else. Sisters.).

Puddles is posing with my Sockapalooza Pal sock! I was getting a bit worried about not casting on yet so I did. I would have finished this sock, except Rowan's evil eyes and murmurings ("Is that a new sock?") guilted me into picking up the Gryffindor sock. I really wanted these to be monkeys, but instead I'm trying BFF socks (another Cookie A. pattern).

I'm using Socks that Rock Love-in-Idleness. First time I'm using the lightweight yarn. I love the mediumweight, but enjoy this weight too. I'm just about to turn the heel.

WIP Wednesdays have been motivating me to finish things up or work on a project and make some progress. However, there are still a few WIPs out there that remain exactly the same - Dreamswatch, Tomato, and casting on the mate to my Monkey sock. There's always next week!
