A good day.

  • a quick stop at the farmer's market
  • brunch with the girls and some knitting
  •  went for a swim.  Still not back on a routine, but I figured it was sunny and 67 degrees out, and if Disco can go running when it is 25 degrees out, heck, I could go for a swim.  I have to remind myself that I always feel good afterwards.  Tired, but good.
  • resisted an afternoon nap and instead knit on my bare naked wools sock design, while watching HBO's Parade's End.  It definitely isn't Downton Abbey, but Benedict Cumberbatch and a period piece is a bit hard to resist.

  • after an afternoon of knitting, I'm even a bit further along.  I hope to finish this sock in the next day or two, and then get the pattern to test knitters.  I'm still in love with Bare Naked Wools Breakfast Blend fingering.....so so soft!  Oh, and they just added a new color to the line....check it out here.

  • just as I turned the heel and saw the end in sight of this project, my mind began wandering to the next design on the needles.  I'm being good by not casting on everything.  Trust me, all the new pretties from TNNA and Stitches West are taunting me to cast them on, but I'm trying to stay focused.  This lovely skein from Baah! Yarns is up next.

  • crossed a few things off the to-do list in the evening...exciting things like paying bills, balancing the checkbook, a few emails, etc.  The list is still a bit longer than I'd like, but there's always tomorrow.
It was a good day all around.  How was your day?

Happy Knitting!

It was a pretty nice day here too. Went to church, had lunch with my MIL who is recovering from hip surgery, cast on a new sweater for my sweet niece, and had dinner together as a family last night. Hard to complain about a day like that!

I don't have HBO (never have, sad face), but am enjoying my new netflix subscription. Finished House of Cards last night - will have to start on the original next.
And yes, it is bloody freezing here, but I agree about feeling awesome after the exercising :0) Keep at it. I know two ladies who have lost significant amounts of weight this past year - Cbear has lost c.80lbs (I think, last time she posted about it), and one of my Florida mom friends has lost >100lbs. Their secret? Diet and exercise. No getting round it.
Also, that breakfast blend looks scrummy ;0)

Now that we've moved, we're taking care of some "big" things like getting a washer and dryer and a new fridge. No, we haven't been without a fridge this whole time but we absolutely HATE the one we have and it's not selling well so the chances of us selling it are nil. We're still without a dryer right now but at least I can wash clothes.

I finished a project (albeit a small one) and decided I needed to start another one. I had ideas in my head of which project but it was late and I didn't want to disturb Husband by digging out the book or magazine so I started one that had a PDF. Thankfully, it's working with the yarn and needles I had (sport weight and #2s).

Today, we're getting the new fridge (right now) and that's about it. Just more unpacking. Oh, and I traced Little Man's feet so I know how long to make his socks (the project I started last night).

Playing catch up...pretty pretty Carrie!
The exercise is key. I have slacked off a little but heck, if you can swim and Disco can run, I think today I will snowshoe!
