A berry special sock....

Happy Friday!! Yay!! School is out!! Things should be settling down at work for the summer! Yippee!!!

I've finally made enough progress on my new design to show you!

It was definitely inspired by this gorgeous skein of Plucky Knitter MCN yarn in the colorway Ripe for Picking.

something berry special

The stitch pattern reminded me of berries too!

Mmmmmmm....such yummy yarn! Maybe I'll be inspired with a name for this pattern while I'm at the farmer's market tomorrow morning! Either that...or Raspberry Torte...you know, Strawberry Shortcake's friend!

Speaking of patterns, I'm so excited that my Cotty pattern is in the running for the Socks that Rawk! Group's Quarterly KAL! Thank you all for being so supportive of my design! I can't even imagine seeing so many colors of my favorite yarn knit in one of my patterns!!! If you haven't had a chance to vote for which pattern is picked, here's the thread! Feel free to click the love button!

If you are thinking of buying the pattern, WAIT!! If picked, it'll be marked down to $4.00 from June 16-July 7!!

And, if you leave a comment in this post, I'll pick five lucky winners to receive a free copy of the pattern too! I'll pick the winners and email the pattern on Monday, June 15th! You have until 9am PST on the 15th to enter!

Here's to a happy happy weekend!!!!!
xoxo Irishgirlieknits

I love both the color and the pattern of your new sock. It's a perfect match! And it makes me think of marionberries and raspberries, all mixed together. Berry nice!

Congrats on being in the running for the KAL sock. I think your pattern rocks!

Thank you for offering your pattern at a discount. I'm the one who asked for your Cotty sock to be on the final list for voting. It is doing really well. I think they will pick the top 2 patterns.
It's going to be fun with your pattern since it looks good with a variegated yarn.

Perfect yarn/pattern combo, I love how it's knitting up! Now I want berries. Yum.

I'll have to pick some more STR for the Cotty KAL - I'm almost done with me second sock, first pair.

And as for your new design - lace, ribs and raspberries, what's not to love :0)

We're having a blast here in our new home, and this afternoon, I'm going to meet miss Cristi for some KIPing :0). It's quite a drive though, so I hope I don't get lost!!!

I'm loving the new pattern! The color works perfectly and the Strawberry Shortcake reference is awesome.

Congrats on the cotty sock as well.

I thought the school I work at is slow to get to summer & we had our last day last Friday. Bummer to think there are folks out there on a later schedule.

Mmmm, berries! (Which reminds me, I need to go out to the backyard and pick some blackberries.) Love your new berries-inspired pattern. Hmmm, I may even have some blackberry-colored yarn. I also have Cotty queued up, but must finish my current socks first.

I was planning on using Pepe for a pair of Cottys....mmm, but your "berry sock" is lovely as well. The Pepe colors make me think of wild berries, and I could combine with your Berry pattern. You know, there always has to be a theme!

Raspberry Torte is perfect! What an emerging designer you are!

I know you're going to be one of the top two vote getters because Cotty is so lovely, but wishing you more luck can't hurt. Good luck!

This yarn looks very much like a silk yarn I used for a sea themed scarf for my MIL - it IS a yummy color but can you post more detail about the yarn, because I would dearly love to use it again and have lost my original yarn info....

I think Raspberry Torte would be the perfect name for the new pattern -- brings back memories! : )
