Look Dad

A new sock for you!

Uncle Frank socks

A new design no less!

Uncle Frank socks

And what does IrishDad say? "Wouldn't it be easier if you just fixed the holes in my other socks?"

Uncle Frank socks

Seriously Dad. What fun would that be!

Uncle Frank socks
Thanks Boondock Saint (my brother!) for the sock modeling! Well done!

I'm loving how my new sock pattern is coming out! Over in the Sock Knitters Anonymous group, one of our monthly KAL themes is to knit socks for a man. I thought I'd design my Uncle Frank socks. Disco had suggested cables and it stuck. I'm using STR heavyweight, in Manly yes, but I like it!

More details coming soon!

Happy Socktober!

Very nice! I'm so pleased to see that they're knit up in STR heavyweight, too. So much faster, esp. with men's socks.

Those are so nice looking! I love those v-shaped cables that head toward the side and twist up, like wings a bit. And my husband is a bit the same as your dad, new clothes aren't warranted until the old ones are stained or torn and can't be fixed anymore. But you are right, where's the fun in that?!

Oh! Love it! Now I need to go buy some more STR heavyweight in manly colors. Or maybe I could just make some for me in my Lover's Leap. Hmm, I think that second option is a better one...

What a fab, manly design! Even though they're for your dad, I think you should name the pattern Boondock Saint.

Awesome socks! Love the colorway 'cause it's so neutral yet has that little hint of twist.

Beautiful socks, any man would love them. I got such a laugh with your father's comment, men can sometimes be too practical.

Those look excellent!

Lovely man socks! Very wearable. Just enough detail to be an interesting knit, but not so detailed that a man wouldn't want to wear them. Great job.
