A new sock for you!
A new design no less!
And what does IrishDad say? "Wouldn't it be easier if you just fixed the holes in my other socks?"
Seriously Dad. What fun would that be!
Thanks Boondock Saint (my brother!) for the sock modeling! Well done!
I'm loving how my new sock pattern is coming out! Over in the Sock Knitters Anonymous group, one of our monthly KAL themes is to knit socks for a man. I thought I'd design my Uncle Frank socks. Disco had suggested cables and it stuck. I'm using STR heavyweight, in Manly yes, but I like it!
More details coming soon!
Happy Socktober!

The sock looks awesome!
Gorgeous socks. Glad to know I'm not the only one still knitting socks.
Carrie you are SOOOO international :0)
I absolutely LOVE these socks - they are exactly what I was thinking for Frank. brings a little tear to my eye. I hope that Mimi will like them :0). I want to knit some for my Taid for Christmas.
Very nice! I'm so pleased to see that they're knit up in STR heavyweight, too. So much faster, esp. with men's socks.
Another winning design! I love that it is in HW too.
They look great! You just keep putting out the hits! One great pattern followed by another. These are nice and manly!
Those are fabulous! Can't wait for the pattern to come out..not that I'd knit them for a man, they'd be for me :)
Like(100) I've got the perfect green STR waiting!
handsome, yes! and i like it too~
Those are so nice looking! I love those v-shaped cables that head toward the side and twist up, like wings a bit. And my husband is a bit the same as your dad, new clothes aren't warranted until the old ones are stained or torn and can't be fixed anymore. But you are right, where's the fun in that?!
Oh! Love it! Now I need to go buy some more STR heavyweight in manly colors. Or maybe I could just make some for me in my Lover's Leap. Hmm, I think that second option is a better one...
Gah! I had a skein of Manly Yes in my basket last week and took it out last minute....but now I have an excuse to go back!
I LOVE these! And I need to knit them for my Dad for Christmas. They're prefect! I'm ordering some heavyweight now (I'm normally a lightweight kind of girl)...please, please, please put the pattern out soon!!!
What a fab, manly design! Even though they're for your dad, I think you should name the pattern Boondock Saint.
wow, carrie! so handsome! i'm anxiously awaiting more details.
Fantastic Socks! And quite manly, yes.
Manly AND interesting! JAckpot!
I love your design. It is manly and still looks great.
Very nice! Love the color and it really highlights your design!
Awesome socks! Love the colorway 'cause it's so neutral yet has that little hint of twist.
I love the new sock design...and your brother's shoes too.
Beautiful socks, any man would love them. I got such a laugh with your father's comment, men can sometimes be too practical.
I LOVE them!!! My Dad needs a pair for Christmas...when does the pattern go on sale???
You rock...I am in awe of your talent!
so very, very manly. I love it. You should be getting a little project bag in the mail tomorrow. g
Oh so manly! Congratulations on another winner. Looks fabulous! This design may encourage me to knit hubby another pair. :)
Love them!! Not that any man in my life would wear them. . . but I would. :)
manly, yet fun. Good knitting!
Oooh, I love it! It's awesome and like someone else said, MANLY!
ps. I just CO my Winnie socks in a pretty pink called Molly Ringwald! Don't you love it!?
Love, love love!
Wow - you are a designing fool:) These socks are fabulous - your lucky dad!
It's a gorgeous design!!
Those look excellent!
Lovely man socks! Very wearable. Just enough detail to be an interesting knit, but not so detailed that a man wouldn't want to wear them. Great job.
You are rocking the design world lately - you go girlfriend!
Oh, to have such talent....
