Thank you!

This week marks my 3-year blogiversary! And I wouldn't be here without all of you!

Friends

Thank you all for another fabulous year in this knitting community! I have loved getting to know so many of you in person and here online. I do feel so very blessed to have this community and this special group of friends! Stitches, Sock Camp, Sock Summit, SnB, Knot Hysteria.....what a fun-filled knitting year it has been!

And to celebrate, let's have a yarny giveaway! I promise it'll be a great big yarny goody prize for one lucky reader! I'll make it easy too. Just leave a comment. It can be why you love knitting blogs, what you'd like to see more of on this blog, a fabulous book you are reading, or a hot new knitting pattern you have to knit now despite the looming holiday knits list. I'll pick one lucky winner this Sunday!

Happy Blogging!
xoxo Irishgirlieknits

Happy Blogiversary! I'd love to win the giveaway! I just discovered your blog not too long ago and added it to my feed right away.

The reason I love knitting blogs...seeing what people are working on and connecting with people from faraway!

Happy Blogiversary! I came across your blog about a year ago when I was knitting my FLS. A search brought me to your lovely FLS and this delightful blog. I've been with you ever since. Love your projects, your dogs, and even Notre Dame. It all feeds my spirit. Thank you.

Congratulations! I haven`t read your blog for very long, but will continue for sure!

Congratulations, it looks like you've enjoyed every minute of it. And you deserve some recognition for keeping it up, unlike some of us who've seriously lapsed :)

Your blog makes me smile all the time. I love the knitting internet...like having my own tutor. I don't know a single knitter, so you all are my teachers. Congratulations on your anniversary.

I love knit blogs for the inspiration they provide - and yours is no exception. You choose the mose gorgeous yarns, and knit the mose beautiful projects - many of them your own patterns! Congrats on three years!

Happy Blogiversary! I can't believe it's been a little over a year since I found you. And I have enjoyed every entry. Thank you.

I love getting to meet new people via the knit-blogging world. It was fun to see you in person at Sock Summit. I envy your yarny trips, but it's nice to follow along on your blog. I'll second the "show me the Snowboarder!" Your nephew isn't the only cute boy in your life!

Happy Blogiversary! I'm excited to knit the Corrugator scarf for the Red Scarf Project - no purling. ;)

I love I think I have found a life-long passion in knitting. I have lots of hobbies which rotate between reading, cross-stitching, silk painting but knitting is so portable and very satisfying that I think I will still be knitting way into my 90s! Congratulations on the blog-a-versary!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! I've been an avid fan for a year or so and enjoy making a quick check every morning to see if there is a new entry for me to enjoy. Teaching means that I steal every little spare moment I can to enjoy relaxing with my needles, yarn, and current socks. I love the fact that you are from "the Penninsula" which makes me feel like I have a vicarious knitting friend close by. Thanks for the ideas, inspirations, and sharing of your family and friends I find on your blog. VREDE en VREUGDE Linda

Joyeux blobversary. I discovered your blog a couple of months ago and go to it every day. I love all the STR at the top - we don't see it in Europe.
I also read your blog to see all the projects underway or finished. I have a lot of yarny blogs marked but yours is in the daily list.

Renee Anne said...

Happy Blogiversary! I don't know if I've ever celebrated one of those...hmm, just another reason to buy yarn, right?

Speaking of yarn and knitting and such, I found you through another friend's blog and I liked what I saw. I haven't been reading very long but I know enough to know that you have cute doggies and lots of yarn porn.

But, I like knitting blogs in general because I wind up learning something or finding a cute pattern or fun yarn or someone who just happens to be having the same problem I am (which, lately, is more often than not).

And, on top of that, I like knowing that there are people out in the world, maybe not in my immediate community, that have just as much of a problem as I do (regardless of what the title of the blog is about).

Congratulations!! I love knitting because I can make things to give to my family and friends.

I love knitting blogs because they inspire me in my own knitting and make me realize that there are other folks out there like me!

Liette said...

Congratulations! I love knitting blogs in particular because you get to see and 'hear' how a person has altered or done a pattern. I love to see the end results and seeing the project come to life through it's own WIPs. =)

I love knitting blogs because it feels like a huge community - no matter where in the world they are, or how different their lives are from mine, we share a common love - using two sticks to turn a string into something useful and beautiful.

Happy blogiversary!

Happy Blogiversary! Let's see, right now I'm halfway through the 16-button Cardigan from Simple Knits, even though I have a pair of sock and two hats I still need to knit before Christmas! After Christmas, if Santa brings me that Tatamy Tweed I put on my wishlist, I'm going to be ALL OVER the Tangled Yoke Cardigan.

Woo hoo! Happy blogiversary! I love reading other people's knitting blogs because it makes me feel like I'm not the only one... (who has a giant stash, who obsesses about a pattern or a colorway or a particular yarn...etc).

I love your blog. It is great to see (and buy) your designs so soon after you have created them - and it is a bonus you like knitting with the same types of yarn I do. Plus - it is like "knowing" a celebrity.
I confess, I saw you at Stitches West this last year and was tounge-tied - I couldn't introduce myself...how silly is that?
Keep up the great work!

Despite the huge Bucket'o'WIPs (tm) and the projects on the needles - and of course the massive dash to the deadline with the Christmas knitting, there is always time for reading another knitting blog - love yours! Happy Blogiversary! Long may our imaginary knitting friends from Ravelry and Blogs, turn into real friends when we finally meet them in the flesh!

I'm not commenting on knitting *Shocker!*

Since you are an avid Notre Dame fan, I want to know how you feel about Charlie Weiss being fired from ND.

Jadielady said...

I love knit blogs because I get to have such wonderful friends all across the country!

IrishGirlieKnits said...

Andrea.....to answer your question. I am so sad that Charlie was fired. I completely understand why..it was inevitable. But really, I love everything he has brought to ND (including the awesome athletes that ND wasn't recruiting with Davies and Willingham, the former players as coaches, new traditions). Charlie "gets" Notre Dame and that is so important. Plus, Charlie has a daughter with autism and has done a lot for the South Bend community with Hannah and Friends (his foundation). I was really sad the past few weeks when we all knew the inevitable was going to happen.

Now that its done, c'mon Irish! I want to be back in the top 10 next year!

Congratulations! You have brought many readers (me, included, of course) lots of interesting stories and commentaries. My two favorite pastimes are knitting and reading. I would like to share a book with everyone entitled "Still Alice". It is a very moving and informative fictional story of a vibrant, extremely intelligent and accomplished woman who is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I read it months ago and still can't get it out of my mind. I encourage you to read it.

Carrie,

I have made many a comment on knitting blogs, but you were the first to reply to a personal email. Being a relatively new knitter (a little over a year) I can't begin to tell you how appreciative I was that you gave me encouragement and advise about a pattern that I wanted to try. I have my Shawl That Jazz done and I promise to send you a photo of it.

Happy Blogiversary!
