Now that's better.

I'll admit that when I am designing, unless I'm at the easy, not thinking part of the design, my overall knitting production slows down.  I'll find myself watching tv without knitting in my hands because the project I'm working on isn't in quite the right spot.  This past December, I took a lot of my lingering, long overdue, UFOs off the needles as they were either not satisfying or just not right.  So I haven't had an easy go to project on the needles for the past month or so.

Well, I fixed that yesterday.

Cotty Love

Cotty socks.  Thought it was about time I joined my own KAL!  Cutiepatootie's mom requested another pair of socks.  Hopefully I get these done by her birthday.  In June. hehehe

Do you have an easy, on the go project always on the needles?  I think I need to start keeping one of these on the needles.  But only one.  More than that at it just gets added to the pile of UFOs.  We'll see how I do with these socks :)

Happy knitting!

I love having an easy go to and ready to go project on the needles and try to have one at all times. I spend so much time in the car and waiting for the boy for school and sports that it's a necessity to help pass the time. I've been using my sweater for that project but it has official reached the too big and bulky point to make it reasonable to cart it around. I need to start something new too....

Loved yesterday's shawl! Anzula makes such pretty pinks!

My "easy" projects are usually plain old socks...the only time I need to reference a pattern is when I get around to the heel turns and that. Otherwise, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Oh, and hats. I have a thing for hats...

My "easy" project is the BeeKeeper's quilt. I have SOOOOO many of the hexis to knit that it'll be my easy project for about the next 4,000 years ;0) Yesterday I had to buy a second bag of polyfill for stuffing. Progress is mine!

I always keep a pair of socks in a project bag in the car, for appointments and such. It is usually plain stockinette of maybe Monkey pattern (which I've made so many times I have memorized).

I am working on an infinity cowl that is so fun and pretty and I can take it with me everywhere!

ALWAYS socks. And I am trying to shrink an embarrassing stash of Peace Fleece and Maine wool (lots and lots of colors, nary a sweater's worth among them) by knitting bias squares that will be assembled into afghans to send to a group that delivers warm things to one of the Lakota reservations in South Dakota. Those must be ready by August, so I have time. I start by casting on stitches for two sides, then working my way down, so it seems to move faster and faster as I move along; a trick I always fall for. WAY more mindless than Cotty socks!

I find myself getting stressed out when my easy knitting is almost done. I've only really started knitting socks in the last year, but I think they are quickly becoming my go-to for easy knitting.

I love your Cotty socks but I must confess I'm kind of scared of picots, so I haven't tried knitting them.

Do you have a tutorial, or is there one you recommend?

I always have a simple pair of socks OTN for waiting rooms and restaurants and so on. The minute one pair is finished I cast on another pair.

I would love to test knit for you (as I'm sure everyone else would)! That looks so pretty, love the lace points. Gosh, and I love Anzula yarn too. Lovely! -Rocky Moreno

I try to have an easy project (or a project at an easy stage) so I can take it places and knit without thinking too much. The problem is, it usually is worked on the most and so it gets finished and the ones I have to think about languish. Then I start another easy project b/c I need something to take with me...[repeat]
