Fall in Love Fridays: The Good Stuff

When you are on a self-imposed yarn fast, its good to enjoy your stash as often as needed. Fortunately, I have a very nice stash.


Such pretty Mama Blue. I'd love to knit it soon. But I don't think its even on my May to-knit list.


A gorgeous Plucky Knitter MCN in Blarney. Perfect, right?


STR Aquaboy. Goodness gracious. This color is gorgeous. I'm loving the bright colors lately....spring is here!



This yarn fast is so not a diet. I'm not a fan of the yarn diet either. Its a lifestyle change, right?

The past 5 weeks have been detox. The lifestyle change comes in June.

Fall in Love Fridays: Sunkissed Sands

The shores of Port Ludlow were not quite sunkissed when we were there.



But I still couldn't resist purchasing these 2 skeins of BMFA LSS in Sunkissed Sands as my final sock camp purchase.



Anemone kissed sands was a bit more like it....



Amazing!!!



These two skeins will be the last stash additions for awhile. So I really will be falling in love with my stash on Fridays! (Hi. My name is Irishgirlie and its been two weeks since my last yarn purchase.)

Fall in Love Fridays: The Blue Edition!

A little sample of my blue sock yarn stash..... it is my favorite color after all.


How many different blues do you see?


When I love a color, I sure can justify that this one is just a bit different from this shade, etc. Hence, the stash grows.

I must say, this camp homework is working out well in regards to me learning how to play with my new camera! And I've been taking my camera with me everywhere..just wait until you see the pictures I share tomorrow!

Fall in Love Fridays: A Small Victory!

BMFA Peru, colorway Rose Quartz

A quick post for a small victory that occurred last weekend at Stitches! I decided rather than buying some of the gorgeous BMFA Peru yarn that I was surrounded by all weekend, I would go home and cast on the lovely skein that had been marinating in my stash for over 2 years! Well before this yarn was even available online! So Saturday night, after an evening of fun at Purlescence, I went home, wound up the gorgeous skein, and cast on for another Gathered Scarf!

I was quite proud of my little victory! Falling in love with my stash is helping....a bit...

Fall in Love Fridays: The Pigeonroof Edition!

Do you remember me blogging about this lovely yarn last year? I bought a few skeins from Woolgirl sight unseen and just loved them! And then tucked them away in my stash.... ignored... for a year!! Eek! With Stitches West coming up next week, and knowing that Pigeonroof Studio will be there, I thought I better at least try the yarn before I think about buying more!! Her colors are to die for!

And then I fell in love all over again. I just had to cast on. Despite saying just a day or two ago that I wouldn't cast on more socks until I've finished my Trickle socks. Oh well. I could blame Neuroknitter a little bit...she did enable me to cast on for the Tesserae sock after I drooled over hers!



I guess you could say I'm using up my pattern stash too, since I've had this pattern for awhile and still hadn't cast on! I love it!! Such an easy to memorize pattern!

Fall in Love Fridays: The Bleeding Hearts Edition!

I've been thinking about Fall in Love with Your Stash Fridays for awhile. Then I thought, well, it can also be Fall in Love...with a great book .... or a great recipe ... or song... or whatever I'm loving at that moment!! Mostly, its going to be yarn! But I'm giving myself some room on this one! And I'm really going to try to embrace my treasured stash!! The next few months I'm going to have some challenges (e.g., Stitches West, Sock Camp)!



What a perfect way to start! I had picked this out last week because it has been marinating in my stash for a good TWO years! Socks that Rock mediumweight Bleeding Hearts. A color that up until Wednesday (my birthday no less!) had not been available on the Blue Moon website for awhile.




I guess you could say maybe I was saving this colorway until I knew I could easily buy more of it. And then on my birthday Tina goes and updates with lots and lots of new and old colors! And typically, on my birthday, well I would have gone a bit crazy.



But I tried to be strong. I will be so very weak when I see it in person in two weeks at Stitches. I can just wait two weeks. So instead, I took pictures of the lovely skein I already had!



It is gorgeous!



And I fell in love with it all over again. Like it was brand new! And I wound it up and cast on a gathered scarf immediately!! And I love that even more! I'll save those pics for another day!
