Blogiversary Bonanza!

I can't quite believe this blog has been going strong and we are now celebrating 7 years of blogging!! Thank you all so much for reading, commenting, cheering, laughing, and knitting along with me. You know I wouldn't be here without you!

For the past few years, we've celebrated the blogiversary with a different pattern at 50% off each day. But I'll be honest, I'm too sleepy to blog that much for the next week, so I hope you'll enjoy this option instead! I've picked 7 of my most popular patterns and marked them on sale until next Monday!  Easy-peasy :)

Happy Blogiversary Sale

Summer Wind  San Mateo

Wish I Might   Lilianna
Cotty
Honey Bunches Naylor Street

All of the above patterns are $3.00 until Monday, Dec. 16, 11:59pm PST (no coupon needed). After that they will go back to their regular price of $6.00.

With less than two weeks til Christmas, if you have a last minute gift to knit, I definitely suggest Naylor Street. With sizes that range from baby to adult, it'll work for anyone on that list! The little magpie loves hers!

She came over to hangout last night and we had a blast!

And lil' snowboarder photobomb :)

Enough of the cute baby, let's get back to that blogiversary! This is where the bonanza comes in....time for prizes!

image

I stocked up on some of my favorite knitting cards from Knitterella recently and I'll be sharing them with two lucky winners.

Four other winners will receive a digital copy of their choice of either The Woods Family Collection or The Sullivan Family Collection.

Another will receive a lovely skein of Plucky Knitter MCN Aran. I knit myself a Gobi Hat, from last year's Bare Naked Knits Club, with my skein and I love it!

image

Love it enough to post a make-up free selfie :)  By the way, thank you all for the awesome hat suggestions! I'll keep you posted on which one I pick next. I'm halfway through my treatments, the "bump" on my head is significantly smaller, and the pain is minimal... just exhausted. And my head is getting a bit itchy, as expected. They say the other side effects start in the next week or so. Anywho, I have a cute hat least.

So how do you win the above prizes? Just leave a comment below and a way to contact you if you win (e.g., rav id, email). And I love hearing about your holiday traditions, a link to your favorite treat you'll be baking, or what gift you are hoping Santa will bring you this year. I also love to hear which blogs you enjoy reading, or the book that you can't put down, or what movie is a must-see when I have time off!

Contest and sale are good through Monday December 16, 11:59pm PST.

Feel free to share, tweet, facebook, post, etc. about the blogiversary sale and contest! And thank you all again for being on this fabulous ride with me!!

Happy, happy knitting!!
xoxo Irishgirlieknits

My favorite holiday tradition is new jammies on Christmas Eve and spending time with family. Nothing beats that! I used to bake a lot but the past few years, I'm lucky if I get one batch of cookies made.

I wished I looked as good without makeup!

Since I am a Sullivan, I really should win the Sullivan collection, gotcha think!

Every year, between Christmas and New Year's, my entire family gets together in one cabin in the mountains. We don't do much, we eat, we play board games, lots of knitting occurs. It's fabulous. I'm the second youngest cousin, and it's wonderful that everyone still makes an effort to come at our ages.

If I should win a collection could you secret sante it to CocoCory (ravID)? Because I already have them, they are great.

My favorite holiday tradition is that you have to sing at least 2 songs with everyone before the gift giving commences.

Currently I am fascinated with this blog: http://togs-from-bogs.blogspot.com

And I have finally started Cloud Atlas, very behind the curve on that.

As far as movies, with two little kids, I only see 1-2 movies in the theater each year. We went a few weeks ago, and Gravity was definitely a good choice.

And as far as traditions, one of my favorites (which I got from my mother-in-law) is to eat appetizers and desserts by candlelight after returning from a Christmas Eve service!

Hi Carrie }:0) I love using my reindeer emoticon in December };0) We collect mementos from our travels each year, to put on our Christmas tree. We thought of you when we put our gold leaf from Yosemite on the tree. I always smile when I think of our holiday there (apart from that tight curve on the road - oh boy, I still sweat when I remember that!) Hugs to you and Lil & Big Snowboarders xoxo

Carrie, your generosity never ceases to amaze me. Happy blogiversary! Here's hoping that by this time next year, you will be back to your healthy self! Still sending prayers your way, and so sweet that you have your wonderful family to help you through!

One of our holiday traditions is to play dominoes on Christmas Eve, after presents are opened. (We may have started a little early this year when we were together for Thanksgiving. My dad is slightly competitive and needed to practice!) But I love that family game time. It's hard for us all to get together at the same time now, and we relish it!

I don't need to win squat.

We're working on "new" traditions since we're so far from our families. So far, nothing consistent except our post-Christmas cruise. We'll work on it...

Thanks for the chances to win! My favorite holiday traditions with my kids are the gumdrop tree (so cute) and I just bought gumdrops today, and doing my four Christmas lego sets. (But if any more come out, I have no more room!)

I'm so glad I found your blog and your patterns. Just knit up one of your cowl patterns for a Christmas present for my sister-in-law; with yarn that we bought on a vacation in Monterey CA last month. It will be a nice surprise for her. My best Christmas is the one spent with my family. And I love to bake Christmas cookies and watch the fun/funny shapes that my (grown) boys choose for the sugar cookie cut outs.
Thanks for the prizes! cw8choc@mchsi.com

Happy Blogiversary! For a good read when you've got lots of time, I highly recommend The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It's long, but a really engrossing story. To watch, my suggestions include all 3 seasons of Downton Abbey, 2 seasons of Elementary, and 2 seasons of Sherlock. New seasons of Downton Abbey & Sherlock are beginning in January, so you'll be all caught up. Wishing you a holiday season filled with health & happiness!

Happy blogiversary!

My favourite holiday tradition is playing crokinole with my family. I also bake a lot, but everyone's got their favourite shortbread recipe so I won't type out mine.

My son and I always made a 'gingerbread house' using a box covered in tinfoil and 'gluing' graham crackers on with frosting then decorating with candies. It cuts out the baking part and keeps the fun of the decorating. Last Christmas my son and his wife came to visit and I was planning that we would do a 'house'. My husband said, "Are you sure they want to spend their time that way?" On the ride from the airport I casually mentioned it. My daughter-in-law said, " That great! Mike said we would be doing that." Hah,husband see! We had a great time doing it. :) (never too old!) HelenMatheyHorn on Ravelry

Baking cookies is a Christmas must do! Another favorite blog is angry chicken - lots of neat ideas for kids.

Your Gobi Hat is really cute! I don't care what you say, I think you look great in hats! Much better than I look in hats :-) I'm kind of loving the Lazy Jacks hat pattern right now. I'm hoping to whip one up next week with my Plucky Fellas.

Hope your head quits itching soonest. That is a great hat. Especially on you. Good luck. Positive and happy thoughts. Focus on the idea of a new hair style after this is over.

You look great in hats. My favorite tradition is hanging up hand knit Christmas stockings. My aunt made mine almost 60 years ago and I knit the same stocking for my hubby, children, and now my grandchildren. This weekend is Cookie Day. Hope your treatment continues to go well. I admire your positive outlook and spirit.

Post as many cute baby photos as you want! I love watching Christmas movies from when I was young or even just The Sound of Music.

Our biggest, and most delicious, holiday tradition is the baking of 13 kinds of cookies. Every year we try to weed out a few but each one is someone's favorite so we can't drop any! It's a lot of work but it wouldn't be the same without them!

Happy blogiversary! Glad your treatments are going well. Hang in there; this too shall pass.

I'm making some bourbon Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla extract (with bourbon instead of vodka). It won't be ready to bake with for another month, but some of it will make a pretty gift!

Oh goodness, I had to do this again because I forgot my contact information like you asked. Let's see... I think my favorite cookie is honestly the one for chocolate chip cookies that is printed on the back of the Tollhouse semi-sweet morsel bag. They come put perfectly every time.

I'm glad that your treatments seem to be helping and I'll keep you in my prayers - especially that any of the other side effects don't kick in next week.

Your hat - and makeupless selfie - is just beautiful. I love the cables, and your freakles! Yep, freakles, not freckles... that's what my daughters both called them when they were younger and it stuck.

Happy bloggiversary. Congratulations on 7 years and here's to the next 7 more!!

Happy Blogiversary :-)

Due to a broken oven (new one won't arrive until after the holidays), I will not be making the usual baked goodies. One of my all time favorites is to make cinnamon rolls; the recipe is from another blogger, The Pioneer Woman (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/cinammon_rolls_/).

Happy Blogiversary! I think my 10th is coming up in 2014!

One of my favorite holiday traditions is drinking hot chocolate with a candy cane in it and watching holiday movies with my family - my favorites are Love Actually and Nightmare Before Christmas.

I hope you're doing well!

Happy blogiversary Carrie! I think your blog is one of the first knitting blogs I started following. I always enjoying reading about your knitting and designing and seeing your sweet family pictures. I'm continuing to pray for you. We always make Oreo cookie truffles every year for our families. Crushed Oreo cookies, mixed with cream cheese, rolled into balls. We dip the balls in melted white chocolate and then drizzle the balls with milk chocolate. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas Carrie!
