Death to Pickle

Started: May 2007 (seriously, over a year ago)

Frogged: August 4, 2008 (rest in peace in project heaven, and may you look like this)

frogged

I feel better already. I figured the two sweaters that I have actually completed, February Lady and Wicked, were both done in under a month. This sweater was just not meant to be. I tried Turtlegirl, I tried ;) I think I'm not feeling the color anymore (yarn has already been listed to trade/destash) and the pattern...just not sure it would be flattering. I had already decided to not add the pattern across the girls, and then it would just be a green Pickle sweater...not for me.

Cropped Cardi WIP

Remember the cropped cardi for my SIL for last Christmas?? See the little stitch markers there to remind me! Well, its not on the chopping block yet, but boy was I reminded of this on vacation. So after the Olympics, we will be reviving this baby. I think this is taking forever because basically she picked the pattern, color, etc. Yeap, I love her that much! However, I think in the future I'm going to have to have a bit more say or else it will be a WIP forever :)

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Twisted, colorway Thraven

Now this is more to my liking!!! Stash yarn too baby!! My ravelympics project, for Team Blue Moon!! is going to be a second Wicked. My first one was well, my first sweater. So way too big on top and too short on the bottom. A thing called negative ease would have helped. Here goes try number two! May it be half as pretty as this one!

Happy Sweater Knitting, hopefully!!

I'm right there with you on the WIP. I have Rusted Root, which I started in April of 2007... I just took the tips off the cord to let someone borrow them, so I know I'm done. I just need to get around to frogging it. I bet Wicked will be stunning in your Thraven!! May your end not be as heart-attack inducing at the one you linked. :D

Oh! Oh oh! I was just trying to think of an excuse to buy another sweater's worth of the Twisted. And yay, you're making one! Love it so much.

Good deal on frogging the pickle. Sometimes we just need to say goodbye.

You're probably right to kill the pickle... that wicked will be beautiful though!

Frogging the pickle. In some countries that would be considered dirty.

I couldn't figure out what you were talking about at first - and then I saw the stockings!

That's ok. Frogging is quite liberating and if it was the monkey on your back then be gone with it. =)

I really like the new twisted yarn you chose for your ravelympics sweater! Good for you that you frogged your sweater! Very liberating indeed! I need to get the nerve up for some of my FOs

Yay for frogging UFOs. Well done. And well done for using stash yarn for your sweater. I keep thinking about that gorgeous yarn you got at stitches - was it silk? Now THAT is going to make a beautiful sweater one day :0)

Frogging can be exhilarating! Sometimes, you just need to say goodbye. It's for the best. And then you have an excuse to buy more yarn... ;)

A Wicked Twist or Twisted Wicked looks and sounds so much more enticing than a Pickled Tomato. As much as I love that green, I totally understand. Sometimes a complete frogging is the best thing to do.

Looking foward to your next sweater!

Peter Piper Picked a Pickled Pepper? Ha! I had to say it! I love the Twisted you chose...you are such a BAD influence! I now, of course, have been contemplating another purchase. Can't wait to see your Wicked!

I frogged my Green Tomato too. It was sad, but liberating all at the same time. Good for you!

Love the Twisted!!

Frogging is like quiting a job. Once you throw the towel in, it feels so liberating. Off to the frog pond!!

As to the Ravelympics ... YOU'RE ON! I'm signed up for the Sweater Sprint.
But I'm knitting for a skinny little 6 year old - I can't push myself too hard, I've got Rivendell's haunting my dreams.
