I absolutely love love love this baby sweater!
So much so that I think this is the first baby knit I've knit that I actually want to keep and save! Alas, the baby shower for a very good friend is next week, so away it will go!
I think the buttons worked perfectly.
Pattern: Baby Sweater on Two Needles (aka February Baby Sweater) from Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitter's Almanac (thank you Disco!)
Yarn: Socks that Rock mediumweight, colorway Tanzanite
Needles: US 5
Modifications: The only modification I made was that I knit the sleeves in the round (I learned that from making the February Lady sweater!). Loved this pattern (um..two paragraphs, not sure I could have knit it without first knitting the February Lady...).
More cuteness! Those little baby booties! Of course, I did my button math wrong (thinking I only needed 5 but really I needed 7 total for both projects, phew lucky there were similar buttons in the box)...I must have been distracted by Michael Phelps!
Pattern: Saartje's Booties the Bockstark Way
Needles: US 3
Started and Finished: August 9, 2008
Modifications: The only modification I made was the buttonhole. I just did a y0 k2tog since I knew that the buttons were fairly tiny. Made for even less seaming!
These were my first completed project for the Ravelympics! Competition baby dressage :) I know, easy, but I have a few more projects to go!
GO TEAM USA!

I'll be watching for that medal to post to your blog.
I love this set, it is so pretty!!
Totally cute! :D
Darling sweater! And I love those booties!!
Beautiful set! Now I just wish I had a baby! Or that I fit into that set! ha!
That's a fantastic sweater! Maybe one of my friends will have a baby so I can make one too. Choosing tanzanite, one of my all time favorite colors, really makes it pop.
Woohoogirl
Very cute!
Kyoot baby clothes in STR? That's one lucky almost-kid!
I love your little sweater so much I faved it on Ravelry. Now I think I must make one, too. You get the Gold in the Baby Dressage event.
So so cute!
SO CUTE!! Did you get all that out of one hank? Or did it take 2?
Darling! I love it. It almost makes me want to have another baby, or at least a doll the size of a baby, yeah that is a better idea.
Great Job!
I LOVE that sweater! The boots are adorable, too...but the sweater is to die for. It looks so fabulous in Tanzanite. I just got a new great-nephew and now I'm wishing he was born a she so I could whip one of those out real quick.
That's a lucky mom who's gettin' that set. Super cute!
OMG! Stinkin' Cute! LOVE (1000)!!!
ADORABLE!
I freaking love that Tanzanite!
Super Cute! And I want to hear the Michael Phelps stuff :) He trains now at my old stomping grounds at U-M, you know :)
Now I have to make the sweater for my new niece. Too cute not to make it :)
that really is precious! i got some yarn that i'm hoping to use for my very own feb. baby sweater.
Congrats on your first FO for Ravelympics. It's absolutely adorable!
Just when I thought the sweater couldn't be cuter, you make matching Saartje's booties (Bockstark style)! Too adorable.
It is adorable! So are the booties!
Waht a perfect little set! Your friend is going to love it!
I hear ya on the Phelps distraction phenomenon! This sweater/bootie set is gorgeous--I'll have to add this to my long queue of baby projects.
that is almost too much cuteness to stand! i love it!
Very cute! And there are worse things to be distracted by than Michael Phelps!
A very cute set!
