Let's Talk Socks!

I knit 22 pairs of socks in 2008.

Wow.

Still doesn't justify my sock stash (but its such a pretty stash!).

If I had to pick a favorite pair of 2008, well it would be my Lucky socks from the Rockin' Sock Club. Mainly for sentimental reasons! They were quite lucky for me in so many ways!

Leafling

I left three WIPs socks on the needles...one of them, my Jingle Bell Monkeys! They'll be done soon though!

And those WIPs socks didn't stop me from casting on a new sock, early in the new year!

They are Leyburn socks, in STR mediumweight, colorway Potomac. Love! We're having a little KAL over at the Socks that Rawk! group on ravelry....wanna join us?? You know you do!

I've been thinking of goals for the new year, and one of them is definitely going to be trying to use my stash as much as I can! Fortunately, my dad and sister stocked up for me for Christmas!

Gorgeous yarns my sister picked out for me over at Woolgirl! (beware, Woolgirl's having an awesome New Year's Sale, click at your own risk)

Here's to many more socks in 2009!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! I have a skein of med weight Potomac bought at the Barn Sale :) Not sure what it will be yet, but I'm hoping with all the colors it won't pool like the 4 color skeins do!

You can justify your sock yarn stash as you knit other stuff with it. Like adult sized sweaters and the like ;0)

Potomac is gorgeous. I just bought two skeins of STR for myself, along with sock blockers (there's with the procrastination again). Can you guess which colours I chose? One is very me and I have been coveting it since the new colours came out. The other is so not like me at all, more like you :0) But this colour really grabbed me.

The leyburn pattern is SO pretty. Love how it makes the colours stand out.

My verification word is aututea.
A hot drink in October?

We need our stashes for those times when we are snowed in for long periods...or just because!! ;)

I love the Leyburn socks, too! We are on the same wavelength with sock patterns, I think!

Happy New Year!

Sock yarn needs a justificaiton? Uh-oh!

The Leyburn pattern actually looks like just the thing for some of my crazy colorful hand-dyed skeins. Love all of your socks, they're fabulous!

22 pairs of socks! That IS impressive. If all the pairs were as gorgeous as these, you made a lot of feet happy.

22 pairs, WOW! I just love those Leaflings, too! Just queued them up, wonder when they'll release the pattern to us non-club commoners? ;)

I agree that you don't need justification for a huge sock stash. Like art--it's beauty for beauty's sake. So in my way of thinking, you should try to *increase* it. Add to the beauty in the world. :)

Plus you can knit stuff with it. Bonus!

I'm loving that leyburn pattern too. Oh and I think I ordered that potmac from the barn sale. Anyday now I should get my lovely yarn babies in the mail:)

Maybe today is the day:)
