I've been in a major organizing mode since the new year! I've been destashing yarn, organizing yarn, making lists of to knit/to finish. Notice I didn't say buying yarn...hehehe... I tried, I really did, but I didn't score in last week's Plucky Knitter update. I figured it was a sign. So, when I came across the Finish or Frog It KAL on Trillian's blog, well, looked like a good idea to me!
The details are here, but simply, its taking the time on Fridays to evaluate your WIP/UFO situation. I know I won't necessarily do this every Friday, but hopefully at least once or twice a month.
Today, we are celebrating Frogging Friday!!!
Today, we are celebrating Frogging Friday!!!
Oh, my dear circular shrug, you were so close to being finished two Christmas' ago. Yes, that is December 2006 I believe. 80% finished no less. But something, deep down, told me this just wasn't going to be a "me" accessory/shrug. I tried to ignore that voice and kept you sleeping. Thinking someday I'll sit down and finish you and look super cute! Super wrong. And off to the frog pond you go! And the unused skeins...off to destash land you go! I have to admit.... it feels GOOD!!! Woo-hoo!! Not quite like finishing a project, but heck, I now have one less UFO sitting around!!
Anyone else have some frogging to do?!?!
Happy Friday!

Wow, you are tough! That's really pretty yarn, too.
My Hey, Teach, has been languishing since Thanksgiving. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I've just been sidetracked and having too much fun with a lot of new little projects that kept jumping into my head! Maybe I'll finish her after the Leyburns...
Very liberating huh! I had to do that to a sweater I knew wouldn't fit me from 3 yrs ago...I'm sure someone will give it a good home. :)
Yup. I have a circular blanket that needs to go, and the start on the second half of a lace scarf. Hah...do 1/2 scarf's count?
80% finished and you frogged it? *swallows hard* Lend me some of your courage please. My Jaywalkers look like they're headed for the pond if I don't do anything about it soon.
Thanks for the linkies.
Nothing to frog, but I have a sweater of Willow's where all I have to finish is 1.5 sleeves... so I really need to get my bum in gear.
Wow, I agree, you are tough! I don't know if I could frog that shrug, being 80% done (and beautiful). But then, there's a part of me that says, "Why knit something you're not enjoying, just to finish it?" I'd like to think the second part of me would win out, but it would be hard.
Now that is liberating!!
I just don't have the guts like you yet! ;op
oh, I really need to join you in the KAL - many things to frog! :) That yarn is gorgeous though!
What a great plan! I have done a little frogging this year - but I have lots more to do! Thanks for the inspiration!
Nah I don't frog cuz I don't really have any WIPs that I keep around. But I am enjoying living vicariously thru you froggers or finishers!
You'll be destashing the yarn you knitted too I hope. Lots of people recycle yarn - there are groups on Ravelry. I was also thinking about that for your first wicked too :0)
Well done for recognising the need to frog. :0)
Have a great weekend.
Hooray for being free from UFO! I need to evaluate some of my FO's and maybe use the yarn for something else.
WOOT!!!
WooHoo!!!!!
Yes, a big WhooHoo!
Woah. You're a tough broad. Such pretty yarn!
no frogging for me (right now) but I do have rowan tapestry in my stash (a sweater's worth) and it's nice to have an idea of what it'll knit up to look like.... you are a brave soul to rip out all that work - but you're right; if it ain't happenin' it ain't happenin'!
I love this idea! My WIP's are definitely out of control. I'm off to join the KAL.
I have nominated you for an award please come on over to my blog and pick it up:)((((Carrie))))))Darcy
