Joy of a Saturday Morning

This past week Neuroknitter encouraged us to join her and the ladies over here to find joy and to practice joy during the month of May! Cupcakefaerie joined her too! Such an inspiring idea to explore because I have been counting my blessings lately, trying to be aware of all the simple joys and blessings I have.

Before I took up the needles, I decided I wanted to learn to cook. I approached this much like I have my knitting...with gusto! And one of the joys I discovered was our local farmer's market. Its been a favorite Saturday morning activity ever since. But Saturdays can be busy, life can get in the way, and sometimes it has been too long since I've been to the market. I always feel like I'm treating myself and taking care of me when I make time for the farmer's market.

And this morning was one of those mornings.

look at that color!
There will be some yummy salads this week!

Happy Spring!
Happy Spring!

I got the chocolate croissant.
Can you guess which one I had? Who can't find joy in a chocolate croissant!

We're halfway through the month of May, so I think I may participate a little bit differently. Rather than three specific things I'd liked to do, I'm going to try to see if I can find joy daily for the next couple of weeks and see where that takes me. I may even try to blog daily to share...that in and of itself is a joy! Whose in for some joy!?

Happy happy! Joy joy!

There is much joy to be found in a chocolate croissant, or better yet, pain au chocolat. Yum! Happy happy joy joy to you, too.

your photographs are beautiful! Your knitting is beautiful and I'm sure your cooking will be beautiful, too....(Every time I see your Socks that Rock photograph on your banner, I want to go stash diving for sock yarn!!!)

Count me in for some joy! I love it! I have really been enjoying cooking this month also - really buying interesting ingredients and Wizenberg's book has been my inspiration. I have also been reading more - AND I bought some fabric for a quilt for my daughter - it would bring me joy to cut and piece it! Wish me Luck! And JOY to you!

What a wonderful idea! It's so easy to get caught up in the minutiae of life that you forget to enjoy it. I'm in!

Totally with you on the farmer's market. I LOVE going, but it's easy to flake out on Saturday mornings. I think I'll make a concentrated effort to start going for the rest of the summer - especially since the produce at the supermarket is terrible these days!
