A Monkey Sighting?!

Note to self. Three socks as WIPs is probably too many, even if they aren't all on the needles all at once. And especially if all you want to knit are your monkey socks. Deadlines are the worst sometimes.

Nope. No monkey in the picture below. But it is a Cookie A. pattern :) And technically, it was supposed to be a monkey originally (long sockapalooza story that I shall spare you, okay not so long, but anyways).

Inspired initially by Stilaholic Nartian's BFF socks by Cookie A., here is the first of my Sockapalooza socks. I just LOVE this STR colorway, Love-in-Idleness. I thought it was a colorway I could part with from my stash, but I must say, as I knit these up, it got harder and harder (especially since these socks would probably fit me perfectly too!). Tapmouse, I agree, you should definately have this colorway in your stash!

So where is that Monkey?
Well, it that swing, Little Guy could pass as a monkey! Oh, yeah, note the purple and pink binky in his mouth! Its a miracle first of all that he took it! And it was the only one lying around (because he doesn't really like them), but Auntie Irishgirlie has the magic touch and it seems to be his new favorite little thing!

Look, even when he is awake! And we found a blue one finally! But, still not the monkey I was thinking of.

Look closely. A monkey sighting. Thank goodness. I can't wait to finish. Gryffindor socks for Rowan. BFF socks for Sockapalooza pal. Monkey socks for me :) Priceless.

Happy Knitting! xoxo Irishgirlieknits

Is that a monkey in a tree?! Go Auntie I-G. Mr smalls is such a darling, I hope he's being good to you and you're having fun with him. :-)

Nice socks, and I'm always happy to look at babies. Particularly cute little monkeys with different colors of binky!

What a good auntie you are!

Watch out for that monkey--I heard they like to grown and multiply!

Great socks! I'm sure your Sockapalooza pal will really appreciate your non-lace socks.

And I had a hee moment 'cause I've just been talking to tapmouse about her getting Love-in-Idleness 'cause mine's sitting in the stash waiting to become Cedar Creeks or Central Airs.

And what yarn are those Monkeys-to-be in? Those at least will be quick!

I'm betting tapmouse buys the Love-in-Idleness by ummm....Thursday morning! She'll breakdown over the holiday :)

Awwww, Little Guy is soooooo cute! I started "Monkeying around", too!-lol! I'm knitting mine from the Crystal Palace Panda Bamboo and am amazed at how wonderfully soft and stretchy the stuff is! Are you using the Spring Fling STR? Too cool!

OK, ok...Love in Idleness it is! I'll be placing (ANOTHER) order soon because I'm naughty that way. But I'm holding out past today because my friend wants to add to my order and I need to wait for her. Besides, I am all hung up on making another Baby Surprise sweater with the Metamorphic Twisted yarn!

The BFFs are absolutely awesome, too! I don't know, maybe I would have sacrificed my reputation in the knitting world and kept them for my own! You didn't have some spare pair to sub in, instead?!-lol!

OK, I'll shut up before you start believing I could be so bad! Great job on the BFFs!
